Default Piston and Sleeve question

I have been looking to get into nitro. I want to do it right and buy a brand new motor and not a used motor. I have been looking at the Werks B2 but I cant find any parts for it. Can I used parts from the B6 if I needed? Are these parts interchangable? What about from other manufacturers? Thanks.

dont worry about parts on a $160 motor. just run it, get your 8-10 gallons through it then buy a new motor after a year or two. parts are only meant for good motors that break early for some reason, case, air filter, rod, bad wreck breaks head... etc. the werks wont let you down.

Yes I checked Amain. They have parts for newer engines but not the B2. Can't even find the parts on eBay. Being that I am still learning, I would feel more comfortable if I can find parts.

Am not sure what parts you want? p/s set? I would buy another engine for 170 instead of a p/s set at 80. They have a 3 port p/s set listed, not sure if thats the b2 replacement or not. Go on the werks b2 thread and ask there, Ron from werks will give you your answers.

Talking Werks Engine

Werks makes a great engine. I have not tried a B2, but, in general, you should enjoy how these engines run. Simple /Easy to setup. Good engine for racing.

Amainhobbies has a werks B2 for $169.00. Just checked.

Ah. I think I see what you are saying. In the engine Parts section, there is no section for Werks B2..

I suggest calling them. The B3 is an older engine and the B2 is newer. If they can't help, then I suggest calling Werks Directly. The number i have is (408) 365-1000 or (408) 365-1070.

no parts for the werks b2, and NO the b6 parts won't interchange. I know this because I pulled the back plate off and my piston dropped down breaking the piston skirt. Ron said they wouldn't interchange I was going to just buy a b6 piston and sleeve set but they won't work. what I did find out is that a used piston from my Cody King Orion engine worked it has been in my b2 for 2 gallons now and it still runs like a champ. It is a cheap engine and the parts would almost be as much or more than a new that is why they don't offer the parts, but you can get your original piston and sleeve pinched if need be.
