If you are comparing 30% to 20% the engine will be punchier, make more overall power and general run cooler when tuned properly on the higher nitro percentage fuel. You will notice the biggest difference when getting on the gas out of a corner and on the approach to a jump with a short run up. If you are racing I would highly recommend making the switch. The Cinco & Seite are already shimmed for 30% so put some in the tank and rock and roll.

Is there any need to add or remove shims when using fuel with 25% nitro?

Engine gurus much more qualified than I have told me that you can remove the 0.1mm shim once the engine is broke-in. You'll get more power but it will narrow your tuning window so if it's making good power I would recommend just leaving it. Also, once the engine starts to lose compression later in it's life cycle it will run better with the original amount of shims. Another option is to take it out now and put it back in once the engine gets to some time on it and starts to lose compression to lessen the chance of flameouts. Up to you though.

Looks like Maxy has the engines now! They have the new 3 needle carb and a silicone filled crank. I should have some in stock by the end of the week.

I am new to nitro. I bought a used mp9 tki from a sponsored driver and it had 1 race on ona new chassis. I bought a cinco and a werks 2013. I had a 6.5 insert in it and running 30%. I started late last season and did not finish the race because my tuning skills were in their infancy so to speak. Over the long long long winter idid a little research here and there. I came to the conclusion that since I really should have read all that before I attempted to tune with a small insert and 30% I was over reaching lol. I went to a 8 insert and 25%. I re did the needles to base tune. I fired it up and kept it running around my yard until the glow plug temp hit 212. I immediately began tuning. Took 3 more rips around the yard. Will idle for more then a minute and has instant throttle response through the rpm. I took it to the track yesterday and it was amazing. Still running 25%. But it is not perfect. I think I went to big on the insert. Buggy falls a bit flat at higher rpm and I am only getting 7 minutes. I am thinking going to a 7 or 7.5 and giving it a re tune. But I am also thinking I have the wrong pipe. It is running great with tons of low end but controllable power and I have no fear of a flame out except running out of fuel with the 8 insert.

Or I may just need to lean it out on the top end? How much more run time is gained by leaning lean lets say 2 hours?

In my buggy I run a 6.5 with a JP3 pipe and header. In my truggy I run a 7 with a 9901 pipe and long smooth bend nova header (not sure of the number right now). My buggy engine has about 6 gallons on it and rips. It opened up after about 5 gallons. It is slightly flat on top but once it thoroughly breaks in it is amazing. This is the old Cinco BT stockers. I have not ran the new one yet.

Oh, and I run 25% Maxy's fuel.

Yea, that is the conclusion I am coming to. With the 6.5 insert I was getting 11 minutes but it would not tune well. ok y friend john Koiva has the 2086 he said I can try. I think what I will do is put in the 7 insert and re tune with this pipe to see what I can do and then try the 2086. Thanks!

OK, retuned with the 7. At 7 min I had 1/4-1/3 tank left. So I am prob around the 10 minute mark. Good idle, plenty of rip. Lost a little low end grunt but has plenty and my top end is better. Ready to rock and roll.

Is there any information about how to tune the 2014 Cinco with the new carburator? What is the difference in the 2014 models between Cinco BT and Cinco Tuned version?
