Default HELP...Losi eight 2.0 buggy 350 engine

I need some Help or advise..... i have a losi eight 2.0 buggy, it's a couple months old and Runs like new. great compression and everything. But the problem i'm having lately is when i take a jump at my track, the engine over revs in the air. so i put a return spring on the carb and checked it as well and made sure it doesnt get stuck. everything seems to be working fine. When i hit the track i'll take a couple of jumps then when i take another one, the engine over revs in the air before it lands. When it over revs, it's not like Full throttle, more like a really high idle. i've tried taking it apart and cleaning the carb, but still no luck. Do you guys have any idea what might be wrong with it. All the years in this hobby and i have never ran into this kind of problem and i'm stumpped.

Sounds lean ,caused by either tune Or air leak ...hard to tell without hearing and seeing it tho

What kind of throttle servo are you using? I had an rtr with the losi servos and mine was displaying the same behavior right before my servo went tu. Servo was just really slow returning to center before it quit. Would only do it every once in awhile. Also check for any binding on closing the throttle.

@ losi racer.... thats wat i thought too, that it might to lean, but i re-tuned it and it running like a champ on flat ground and temps are good. But once i take a jump, it goes into a high idle, once it hits the ground, it's fine again.

@DDavis.... I had the losi throttle servo in it, but it started gliching bad, so i replaced it with a Spektrum HT MG servo. It seems to work good, a little slow but centers nice but still having problems with it over revving in the air. i'm getting frustrated with this thing...LOL

So when you run on flat ground ,you.come to you after a full throttle run ,it idles down like it should ?

@ Losi racer..... Come to think of it, when i ran it 2 days ago, on flat ground at full throttle then i hit the breaks it came down to normal idle speed like it should, BUT when i did it again, i hit the breaks, it went to normal idle, then jumped to a high idle right after that.

I'd say check everything in the throttle return area to include the radio settings. I would think air leak over tuning but then with an air leak, you'd be having problems with tuning it. Put it on a level stand while running and blip the throttle a few times seeing if it will return to idle each and every time. I know how frustrating it can be and hope you get it sorted out.

Default yup sounds like your settings are off

adjust your throttle trim on your radio....take off your air filter dont start the car.. turn on your radio and pull full throttle and then go to brake and then to idle..then very slowly go back to brake and watch your carb..if the car moves at all then you have your settings wrong on yourend pionts..if this is your problem you may want to adjust your linkage because if you take it out with the radio settings you may not get full throttle

Your too lean on the bottom. You have to tune the lsn with the engine hot.

Default maybe

yes that would be the first thing that would come to mind..but he said he reset his needles and still had the same problem.Thats why i would think his carb linkage is off..
either way good luck

Thanks to everybody for they're advise and recommendations. I'll give it a shot this weekend and keep u guys posted. I'll keep in mind about the LSN to adjust it when the engine is hot enough. if all fails, i'll take the carb apart and clean it out really good and go from there.

Default Another losi 350 engine problem

I recently took apart my motor to clean it, when i put the flywheel back on it and tightened it down it wouldn't spin the crank freely, there was strong resistance, like it was smashing into to the front bearings of the motor. Any ideas???

Default another losi engine problem

I had one of my motors do that too... If u took it apart and didnt change anything, then it's just you tighten the flywheel to tight. Try backing out the flywheel nut a bit and see if that helps. The problem i was having was a washer i put behind the flywheel and when i cranked down on the nut it pinched it between the flywheel and bearing and it would'nt spin. Hope this helps, let us know if you got it to turn freely
