sI can only tell you about my own experience.

I first had an OS Speed in my truggy, it was brilliant, with lots of topend, and enough bottom end grunt to keep up with the bigger .25's and 28's. It gave me 10-11mins between pitstops. If there was a shortfall, I would say it was a tiny bit sloww out of a corner, not compared to other 21's, but compared to .25 and .28's.

I also gave the Go GX5R a try. It was just as fast, and even had a bit more grunt out of corners. It gave me about 1 minute less runtime between pitstops than the OS speed. Being almost equal to the Speed, it had one drawback in comparrison, the go was a bit more prone to flameouts when it has been ridden hard for many laps.

Lastly I dicovered the sollution in my opinion. I fitted the OS.25XZ. I had it modded by AB mods. Its simply GREAT. Very powerful out of corners, very fast topend, and good fuel econ, of around 9 mins, and improving as the engine gets more lose. This is as far as I am conserned the way to go. It has given me better personal best laptimes and average race lap times.

Do they still make Vspecs?

The new engine is the 21XZ-B and per OS does not have vspec in the name.

Get the new one.

Just buy an OS and be done. You'll end up with one in your truck sooner or later. Might as well just get the right engine off the bat.

The new OS XZ-B's are incredible engines for a damn good price. Look around and you'll find them around $250.

You say somthing bad about OS. the fan boys start getting all bent out of shape. IMO you spend that kind of dough on a 4 gal. engine you are out of you're mind.

before you guys get out of hand i am going to ask both of you to relax.. everone has there opinion.. lets please leave it at that...

now for you answer on the best motor...
1) that runs good
2) that gets good mileage
3) last's more than a few gallons
4) the one that you can afford...

there are so many good engines it is hard to say which is best....the 200 dollar market has been flooded by good running engine... the main reason the 'high" end motors are not generally talked about is that most guys cant afford them... some guys get "10" gallons out of an os.. others get 3-4... some guys get 15 out of a "go' motor.. other get 2-3 gallons... it is how you tune, maintenance the motor, driving style and overal track conditions that will determine the life of an engine... jeremy
