fuel
I have a few types of fuel around, but I have loved SideWinder for a while. Does anyone have a lot of experience with the new purple stuff? It is suppsed to get a little more runtime, but has less oil content. Any risk?

not much to report:cry::D...Well i qualified 7th in the Expert Truggy A-main for the Grassroots Racing Series @ Palm Desert Raceway on saturday....was doing great for the first 3 mins and i caught a spike on a pipe or something and it over extended my right front shock and yanked out the shock end, so i had to run the rest of the race with only 1 shock:lol:....i ended up getting 5th(last)...there was 176 entries and my race was last(20 min main) and it didnt start till midnight...so there were people that couldnt hang and just went home, instead of racing the main....lucky for me its a points series, and i still have 7 more chances to get up in the points:D

I got a 2nd place finish for the 3rd straight time.....................in stock short course oval carpet . GMWAS
If it doesn't have a piston, it's just not the same. Gawd, I wish outdoor season would get here. |
I hear ya Matt, I am ready to burn some nitro. Are you guy's gonna come to the motodome in March? (Fhf race)

I'm sure it's a great time.
A couple of the guys are brainstorming about it. It's about a 7 hour drive for me. ("pit stops" every 90 mins.) ;) |
Short vs Long LSN
My last 5port had the long LSN, the GX5R comes with the short LSN... until the 2011 GXII's I guess. Should I use the long LSN from my old 5port? Should I buy a new one? Or use the short LSN in the motor?
Thanks for the help guys! Travis |

Thanks for the help guys! Travis Just remember the LSN sits about the same, say 1.5 - 1.75 turns in whether you are running short or long needle, but the HSN settings are quite different for the two LSN needles - Short LSN needle - HSN = .5 to .75 "TURNS" in from flush. Long LSN needle - HSN = 1 to 2 "HOURS" only in from flush. If you get lean bog at or below half a tank with the long LSN fitted, then richen the HSN 1 hour at a time until the lean bog goes. See this tuning guide for more details on the long needle tuning - http//:www.go-racing.vpweb.co.nz/Tech-Tips.html  |

Eventually, there will be a replacement for the current .25 pro. I don't know about the .28. However, youll get more power and mileage out of the new .21s.

have you tried the GX-5R or GX-3R with a larger spur gear, or smaller pinion?
|
I run the GX-7R with a 2072 pipe in my late model and have power to spare. That is running against 25/28/32's with no problems. Tim McNutt used my 7port in the outlaw class at the Chili Bowl and had more power than he needed. I guess it all depends on the size track you race on.

Put a half gallon on my new GX-5R yesterday breaking it in. The engine already has scary power LOL. Thanks to Ruune for helping me out when I finally got to put it on the track.
Anybody here use the 6.5mm restrictor? Thoughts? |
