LOL yeah it's getting a bit confusing. I did some testing/tuning today and 6 hours in from flush on the LSN just results in severe flooding. I'm at a point now where it idles well, responds extremely well to throttle input, has great smoke under power, maintains a temp of 210°-215° and only two stages for about 1-2 seconds after a WOT run down the straight. Pinch test results in 4-6 seconds of normal idle, a slight rise in RPM and then it dies.
FWIW I'm about 18 hours in on the LSN and 4-5 hours in on the HSN. Idle gap is exactly .7mm. The engine has great pinch and now that it's close to a good tune it is very powerful. I'm diggin' it! |
thats good to hear its going good, I ran the GX7R for a couple of seasons, fantastic motor, fast and very reliable.

HTH great avatar u have as well  |

new or second hand ?, if new it's a good choice for truggy with lots of bottom end power & enough top end to keep the smile on your dial.

hi, a friend of mine has one of the older 3 ports, before the GX series, will the gx series p/s/r fit in the older 3 port? if so i am assuming he will need the crank also? after all said and done he may be better off just updating the hole engine to a new one?

Hey Bandit, if its the model before the GXI series (gold heads) it will be fine for a truggy, the 5 ports older than that had a few carb problems but the last of the silver head 5 ports had the alloy/composite carb.
Check the carb orings are ok before you run it, if they are the brown ones replace them with the black ones. |
What you should do is measure the crank pin of a gen 5 and then a gen 5.5 or above and see for your self the gen 5 crank pin was 4.97 mm the new crank pin is 4.99. there no disputing an acurate digital measuring device.
The rtr go engine still have the 4.97 crank pin. Hope this helps Naa |
