I love the 086 pipe on my 5 ports, but after reading the forums, I have to try the 2072 pipe.

Does anyone sell these pipes in the US?

Thanks
Archie

Contact Trey (Runne on here) at GO USA for the 2072 pipe.

It will add lots of bottom and mid to your 5 Port :sneaky: Plus they have the meanest sounding bark compared to other pipes too. Really turns the heads when you fire up :)

Round #3 of CRC's Sunday Series was run on 6/18. CRC built a new track for the upcoming Pro Series race. Tires of choice for the new track were the VP Pro Blades in Ultra Flexx compound using VP Pro wheels. The ZX-1.5R buggy felt good, but the new layout was difficult to learn. The track was very busy and needed constant concentration. After a few practice rounds I was getting more familiar with the layout.

Round #1 I had an issue with a steering screw coming loose. I fixed it in time to run the qualifier, but was a lap down. Round #2 came and was running well when my engine developed a lean bog. I finished the round and attributed it to my clunk flipping. The bad qualifiers put me 6th in the B main.

From the start I shot up to 3rd. The set-up felt good with good power. After a lap I was running 1st when my DSM cut out. After a few seconds it came back. I shuffled back to third. This happened a couple more times, but everytime I stayed relaxed and got back up to first. When it was done I finished 1st and bumped to the A.

When the A started I went up to 5th on the start. The track was starting to pull in moisture and the car felt great. The motor really cam alive in the cooler air. I made a few mistakes, but overall felt good on the new track. I had my DSM cut out once again, but after all of that I finished 8th. The GO GX-5R Engine had tons of power and top end on the straight. Fuel mileage was great. Running temps were low all weekend using S&W Fuel Trophy Blend 30%. Tire wear was great.

It was a great day for Caster Racing USA, GO Engines USA, S&W Fuels, and VP Pro tires.

Next race is the Pro Series in Rome, NY on 6/25.

pretty quite here fella's, but that might be a good thing;), i have a new GX5R cooling head if anyone is needing one. just wanted to stop it and say hi to the GO family!!!!:)

I actually need a new cooling head for my GXR 5-port..

But first, how bad is it to run with one fin completely broken off? It's about in the middle..

grizz1 06-22-2011 10:40 PM

Still busy selling and breaking-in GXII-5RHO's :D. These motors just keep going out the door as quickly as I can order them in. I think the word is out just how sweet these puppies are

It will be fine. When you get your new one, make sure you put some fuel tubing between the middle 3 or 4 fins. The very high harmonics from the engine vibration can weaken the fins where they are joined to the centre of the heat sink. The tubing deadens the vibration. Fit the tubing from new and your head should last a long, long time - aside from external physical damage from other buggies and curbing etc. The tubing is good, but not that good
Pics show a GXII head, but it works just the same on the GX heads.

I actually do mine different, but same concept, must be done before any fatigue on the fins (new head) and have never broken one since doing it.

Just be careful you don't bend or weaken the other fins when you try to straighten them out. They can be quite fragile, particularly the thinner GX Series fins.

Hi everyone, I must say that there is quite a lot of interesting informations here and based on that I've decided to get new GXII-5RHO engine.
As I'm completely new to nitro stuff (I've been racing leccy cars for many years though). I would like to ask how you turn around fuel intake on carburetor for fuel tube on engine. I didn't want to screw up anything so I rather ask stupid question. In picture below I've tried to highlight my current state and arrow points where I want to turn it. I guess I know what is needed to loosen up but want to be sure and to know what steps are required to do so.
Thanks for help in advance.

you need to loosein the top brass part, there is flat section on it where to loosin, the intake nipple will turn easy, just put it where you want it and re-tighten, dont tighten to much, just a snug and a smig more.

Thanks a lot, that's what I thought, but wasn't sure if I don't have to take out needle or something like that.
