I actually won an axial .32 at a raffle. It was pretty funny that a race track would include that engine in its raffle but whatever. It sold quick so someone likes them.

shanem121 10-21-2010 10:23 AM

They are ok for a person on a budget but from others i know that have ran them they are garbage.

Jomo918 10-21-2010 11:45 AM

OS is coming back, i thought werks was gonna win this one! but its still early i suppose.:D

I would not put too much thought into it, as you can probably tell by looking at the poll results and some of the rankings it is not a good indication of what is actually happening in the real world from a sales perspective. Never the less this poll is interesting in that it indicates which brands of engines users on this forum like/prefer which is cool!

well thats true, people are buying the brands that are not getting alot of votes, but the brands that are getting votes will tend to be the ones that they bought and accually liked and had good experience with. thats what this is all about.

What are the engines that people are actually buying then?

I would go even further and say the poll is skewed by the number of people with a s/n who like/represent each engine. You can't vote unless you have a s/n and use RC Tech, so that is definitely a factor. It might even mean the engines with lower votes are better, because less people coming on here asking for help...

Just look at the best guys runnin what engines are mounted. Probably because 16 different engines/man'fers have the word alpha in them, lol. Somebody needs to get the copyright on that word. Throw "crf" and "abi" into the mix and we are at gridlock! Not bustin' on Orions, i know they run well.

So just under 200 votes...taken into account that the poll is still new...multiplied out...there are only less than 500 people with RCTech user/ SN accounts? Im skeptical. The poll asks for your favorite engine thats it. There is no way to cheat it unless you have several SN's so I have to take it at face value. I think you may have got a bunk batch this week.....

 see? that's how we roll at Team Orion, outside the box, and off the charts with power, reliability, and fuel economy!

Yea, that's something to be bitter about, but I can't really comment about it on here.

I understand.

THE PHILLY JYNX 10-21-2010 06:44 PM

All the MAJOR race motor manufactures now produce at least one model of motor that is capable of making good power and winning races. The bigger issue now becomes which of these motors is reliable with good longevity, has ease of tuning and holds a tune. And lets not forget price point and the customer service (or lack there of) that goes along with the particular manufactures motor.

J.Elliott 10-22-2010 09:15 AM

Well, I have to stick with my guns on this vote. I don't race fast enough...I mean the truck doesn't drive well enough...yeah it is never my fault. RB C6 in the truggy 7-8 minutes on a tank and probably a mild tune, can't complain. Wait, yes I can, this is the internet.

I'm with you Jeremy! I swap back and forth between 3 engines according to many variables. I can't be bothered changing everything according to where I am racing. The two biggest factors for me are size of the track ( which directly effects run times) and whether or not it has huge short run up jumps which require lots of low end torque. Each of my 3 engines is specifically set up for the 3 tracks I race at most and all I have to do is drop in the engine according to the track I am racing and maybe swap out my shocks and sway bars and some minor tweaks. Your not alone bro!

Maybe i was too much of a boy scout when voting. The best engine i have in all catagories is the Clockworks B5. No clue how a stock B5 runs. I kept my considerations for the brands as on a stock level only. Hence my vote had to go to the OS Speed. Best out of the box engine i've experienced by far. It trumped my C6 USA, FMS, JP, V Specs and JS. Clockworks B5 kicks them all though. Even after i had all the other engines modded.
