I do not know the pipe/plug preferences of the stock 28-7 as I really have not run it overly much.... And my modified 28-7 is like a completely different engine, so its hard to give you advice when we are running a very different engine then you are...... Your best bet is to try the different pipes/headers and judge for yourself what you like and dislike......... As a rule the 28-7 likes the 9886, but that is based heavily on running my modified version.....It should work great on the stocker too, but you will really have to try it and see if you like it for yourself......
How much have you run this engines so far ? how is it going for you ? what problems are you having ?

This is what I noticed. It will idle for about 30 seconds ish before it stalls, pretty good punch after 10 second idle, no hesitation. engine revs sightly before it stalls on the pinch test(3-4 seconds). still getting smoke at wide open after cleaning out bottom end. Idle gap 1mm ish. 8mm venturi. c6tgc plug.
temps are weird- if I run it pretty hard temps will go to 260, and hold somewhat steady. But I didn't continue pushing it super hard. Once, temps went to 275,but if I just stop and let it idle, the temps fall very quickly. like 30 seconds at idle and adding fuel, temps will drop 50*.
I didn't have any flame outs.
I think I'm fairly close on my tune, its fun to drive. I may have to change gearing (13/50) or diff oil to reduce wheel spin, but not until I get it in the dirt.

I ran my CRE engines yesterday and they were full of power. Clearing stuff on the track was not an issue. It was a light turnout and my pit strategy suffered but even with running my tank dry I still managed to I'll off a 2nd in truck. And the P5 in the buggy makes such a nasty sound, a fellow racer called it a real mans engines compared to all the other engines on the track. He said its just the type of sound that you gotta turn your head to and see what it is and i had the quiet pupe on it (2058). Great race day even with my failed pit strategy. I'm still learning the full potential of these engines but the power is very addictive
I'll have to try the 2058 on the bonito.

Todd Kingreys clocked 28-7 took tq with ease last Sat at the BMI Oval spring shootout. Mechanical issues kept him from winning the main but his car was by far the fastest car in the outlaw class.

I went to the Canadian Indoor Off Road Shootout this weekend and my Bonito for truggy and P5 for buggy were awesome!! I was able to finish 3rd in Buggy and 2nd in Truggy. Truggy I had the fastest lap! Everyone all weekend was coming up to me asking what the hell I had in there for engines!
Buggy was going 10 minutes, Truggy was going 10 and probably could have went 12!

I made the maiden voyage with the P5 in the truggy on a stock Mugen clutch and OFNA 086 pipe, absolutely screamed and I was getting 10:30!!!!! Been running it in the buggy, but pulled it bc the new truggy to me needed some power!!!! For $50 the OFNA has to be one of the best pipes ever!!!!!!

Nice job guys!
I pumped more fuel through the Bonito this past Sunday and I think its just about to drop its nuts. Idle dropped down a little and was starting to peak out nicely. Gonna get more fuel in this sunday and run both Bonito and P5. My Fire 11 is gonna sit on the sidelines for our upcoming race until I get more time on it. Man, I'm getting excited to see what it can do at full power!

9886 is the best pipe for the Bonito.... or at least on my Bonito..... the engine has massive amounts of bottom end so we can get away with a 9886....crazy thing is even with a 9886 on a short manifold it still has more low end power then any other .21 I have seen...Including the Picco's....
