OK so one last review after the last race of 2021. I gave 721 SV one last chance on this weekends race. At first I was really skeptical of running this engine again but it was an expensive investment and I really wanted it to perform as it was advertised.
I put the stock carb back on and hit the track but this time I set the idle slightly higher and put on a brand new os p3 plug. Suprisingly with the idle slightly higher than what I would normally run with os speed or novarossi, SV performed perfectly. It is really fast and responsive.
One thing hovewer initially I ran reds 2143 with medium header then I changed the pipe to mielke efra 2041 turbo. I believe 2041 works much better but it is subjective. All in all REDS is great but you need to understand how these engines need to be tuned properly.

Do the S series pipes work on R series engines? I have an r5t. What's the best manifold and pipe or the proper manifold and pipe (for power) for these engines? I'd really like to try the new hard coated X pipe. Will it install well on an r5t? I don't want the pipe angled upwards with the downwards facing exhaust port. how has this worked for you guys?

The R series and S series engines have different headers.
Also you can have the Xone exhaust with angled header for the R engines and a straight one for the S engines.
