30%
Hey guys I just talked to the warehouse and I was informed the engines have come shimmed for 30%
Looks like TQ really has been watching the American Market. Most Italian manufactures have you adding shims. |
grp
just wanted to know if these engines were not made in the grp plant why did production stop after the fire. ?
|
My understanding is that the grp plant was a rubber/polymer tire and wheel plant. The engines had always been contracted out to a little-known high precision engine OEM in Italy, who was left holding the engine bag when the grp plant went down.
TQ accepted the opportunity to market these great engines (.21 & .26) from the same OEM who has a promising future, considering a recent addition to their team, Mr. Rody Roem, former world champ. So if anyone was wondering if TQ was just dumping the remaining inventory of rebadged grp engines, that's not the case at all. The factory has these motors in production for us right now, and in time will make further performance advancements. |
From the pics the engines look awesome! I think Tq may have hit it out of the park with this one, great job guys.
|
Yea TQ has a nice offering it looks like.

Roy, can you get me a tracking number on the engine/fuel for the AMS event? If it has not shipped it's not going to make it before I leave for the build. Email me and I can get you info.
If not it needs to be shipped to the hotel. My email is [email protected] |
Alan B., what's the hotel addy?

Roy, I wasn't thinking when I talked to you but you could send it to me and I can take it if it will be here by next Wed. That's up to you guys.

Got some on teh way!
W00t! |
Started to break the new motors in and there are very smooth. With the tolerances of these motors i would highly recommend a slow break in. i put about 3 tanks on the box and 3-4 tanks running slow and fat. Try to heat cycle it while you are running it to get some heat in it. I think for the money these are going to be very good, smooth motors for a buggy
|
I have 3 tanks on mine so far and it has been easy. The engine sounds great and idles very nice. I am using a 1/10 buggy foam around the head to keep the temp around 210 and running it fat. I am sure this engine will riiiiip when it settles in.

I'm sure you remember when I was running the other version that it ran about 190 when it was race tuned. They don't like to be ran hot. Anything over 220 is a no no.
|
Just received my first batch so if anyone is interested in a stock or modified version, you can either PM me or contact me through my website. The engine look great and should be a very good seller. Thanks for your support!!

+1000 run it at 220-240 you will have an issue ...or well i would say after running 3 grps last year ...and seeing alot of people run them ...i would say tune them on the lsn more than the hsn....they also do not have the sound that os and novas have on the top end ...im glad to see they are back around ...they are some of the best motors i ever ran  |
