From what Rody is saying this engine is an updated/improved GRP which makes a really good engine even better but it's not a re-design.

Thanks for pointing that out...

I have No interest in a "updated/improved" GRP...No Thanks..

Ill stick with My Speeds...

Thanks Again Ambros303...

What you guys must not realize is very small changes in these engines make big differences. For example... Novarossi makes engines for a lot of different companies and many of the parts are very similar between brands, yet small timing and porting changes specified by the specific brand makes for very different performing engines. I never ran a GRP but know many people that did and most everyone I raced with seemed to like them. Some of them are still around and running so I think the quality was there.

I personally think there are very few people with the knowledge and skills Rody has when it comes to these engines. Many things he started on RB's years ago is still used by RB and many other engine companies. The RB B10 is the same engine Rody designed 5 years ago with cosmetic changes over the years. The guy is a world champion on the track, and has designed engines that are 3 time world champions (sounds like a competitor to me) IMO he's not going to get back into this to bring a mediocre engine to the market.

Tony Newland 09-30-2010 07:02 PM

The Speed is a great engine no doubt, I have ran many myself.

But until you've seen or ran one, dont be so quick to judge. The things we're working on for the next year I think will sway many opinions of who Tecno Power is :)

Sorry but I don't understand these post.. the just like with the +4s.. nobody even batted an eye to Max Power C5Q motor that's been out for yrs.. but when they 'updated' it and put a purple head on it, put it in drakes car they sold like crazy.. and just like with these buget motor rebags.. like the RB K9/10, Force JL, and now HPI (whatever they call it) there were ppl saying they wished it was listed as Hot Bodies motor so they could run it.. now.. a lot of motors are just continuing to evolve, like a the kyosho sponsered driver/pitman saying the 3pt orions are just sirio cl3bs that are continuing to be updated.. if you have a personal reasons to dislike the GRP line then that's understandable, but remember if there were issues, the 'updated' motors should take care of previous issues. But it bugs me when ppl have a problem with updated/rebranded cars/motors ect.. everything is becoming like this.. especially the bugs/trugs your running.

Sorry for the long post and no disrespect but if its updated, it really doesn't make it the same motor anyways.

Can I use a Techonopower P/S/Rod with a GRP case and crank??

C. Nutz 10-01-2010 08:50 AM

Tony have you tested the motor in the truggy yet? My second motor should be arriving today.

Yes they are similar, dimensions allow the parts to interchange, so you can take a Tecno P/S and install it in your worn out GRP, like my comments state.

This was posted just yesterday.............

Toiffel 10-01-2010 10:10 AM

must have missed that post...thanks!!

Sure have, Test it out and if you need alittle more pop on bottom remove the copper shim and re-tune. It should run great.

motomatt 10-01-2010 10:31 AM

Tony.................I'm trying to get a small order together but can't find the pre-order for the truggy engine on the website.

Dazed and confused. :)
Moto

Tony Newland 10-01-2010 10:34 AM

I have yet to add it, pricing should be finalized today. I can certainly add it to your order at anytime.

Thanks Matt

yup, nice looking engine. New crank with wider bore and bigger turbo scoop + coating.
Will be interesting to hear/read about how it drives...i wonder if it has more bottom end grunt then the good ole GRP but still retains the same smoothness.

Manufacturercup 10-02-2010 03:42 PM

Ran the TP motor today and got 10+ consistantly. I NEVER get good run time so I was impressed. Thanks to dylan fo letting me run it.

Tony Newland 10-02-2010 09:04 PM

Good to hear.....

Runtime is definetly one of the biggest advantages of the Tecno's..... I've seen as much as 14 mins indoor and 11 outdoor, with my engine. And I'm not the smoothest guy on the controls

dylan707 10-03-2010 10:19 AM

this engine is sneaky...when you first throw it down eyebrows aren't raised...after running a few tanks and realizing how consistent the tune is and how easy it is to go fast with it you will notice that now you can focus on another part of your car...making you faster overall cuz you don't have to worry about your engine anymore......money well spent!

if you are in the inland northwest and want to take this engine for a spin contact me and we can set up a [email protected]

losiracer78 10-04-2010 05:43 AM

on more day and my new Engine will be in and i can start to break it in and finally get it on the track.

Piston/sleeve

Hi. I posted in the TQ racing forum, that i'm a little confused. Is it TQ Racing or Tecnopowers product that will fit in a Mugen Ninja MR B01.

The B01 Part of the Tecnopowers product name sounds close, but, I wanted to know.

Also, I don't see/find any available parts from A-Main for your engines. No Piston/Sleeve/Rods of the sort. I do see the TQ Product. Are their internals
for the purposes of replacement the same for the Mugen Product?? Thanks

wingracer 10-04-2010 10:50 AM

Both should fit.

Dr. Evil 10-04-2010 11:03 AM

Piston/Sleeve

Is one better than the other. Also, again, Can't find parts for Tecnopower.

Same question for the new B01T. Parts and where to purchase.

Need also info on which pipe work.

Are we talking 053 or 083 or 2113 or 2024 or OFna P3 or stay with the Tecnopower pipe. ?

Thanks

Tony Newland 10-04-2010 11:09 AM

The Tecno parts should be listed on A mains site for backorder soon. They should have them in stock by the 22nd.

Dr. Evil 10-04-2010 11:11 AM

Parts

The only thing Amain has are your glow plugs. Nothing listed as of yet.

Thanks

Tony Newland 10-04-2010 11:25 AM

You are correct, parts will be listed soon....

Dr. Evil 10-04-2010 11:34 AM

Pipe selection

Which pipes /header work with the tecnopower engine.

Also, it TQ Racing engine part of Tecnopower or associated in any way??

Thanks

losiracer78 10-04-2010 11:49 AM

the TechnoPower efra 2034 pipe is going to give you a little better mid range power as where the TechnoPower efra 2069 is going to give you a little better bottom-end power and better fuel mileage. You can order the TechnoPower engine W/efra 2069 pipe set

Bulls--t! The base engine parts are made in the same
factory. It's awfully strange that both TechnoPower and TQ
will be releasing .23 engines very soon.
TecnoPower, TQ, Reds ...ect., share the same base
engine family.
Just like the Novarossi based engines, RB,JP, Max ...ect.

All the kids in the family may have different fathers, but
they all have the same mother.

He asked if we were part of TQ or associated...... we dont deal with TQ in anyway.

Yeah but I have seen a World Champ do that so it can't be all bad. :D

Tony Newland 10-04-2010 03:55 PM

It gets the job done.... but not the best for mileage.

I also seen a world champ win with a car with no suspension :D but that was 16 years ago

But that was MORE than 16 years ago :(

Tony Newland 10-04-2010 04:16 PM

 I hear ya

rageworks 10-04-2010 04:59 PM

Tony, I see that you are selling your TQ engine on
the "For Sale" threads.
http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...21-engine.html
Maybe you could tear it and a TechnoPower engine down
and show us how much better the internals are in the TP
engines, compaired to the TQ engines. To see this would
be a great way to convince me and others, once and for all,
that this is THE ENGINE to buy. If I can see the hundred dollar
price difference, I'll have a TP engine on order tonight.
