really? i have a couple dynamite lipo igniters and they work flawless, on one charge they last a good month of racing, bad luck must be on your side.

if the charger isnt staying in, then barley squeeze the end with pliers and you'll be good to go. had to do this with one that was a few years old.

Its the plug end that goes in to the hot shot its self. It also ways shorts out and then I got to cut it off and weld the wire back on the plug.

Surely you have a proper charger to charge other batteries like your receiver pack? Just make up or buy a glow plug charging lead and plug it into your charger. Use the Ni-Cad setting that just about every charger has these days to charge your ignitor. Problem solved.

could just cut a hole in your box and pop one of these rigs in. mine has gone over 3 yrs strong. makes one less thing to carry/charge. no need to worry about lipo either, i went up to 4s with it. can get a box with one already on it for under $100 too.

Hot Shot 2 (long and short version) - 1500mAh - NiCd

For future reference, the Super Shot is a 5000 mAh NiCd.

You must have had a bad Dynamite Li-po. I have one and it lights excellent. It will often start an engine that other igniters won't. I just wish dynamite would use a decent clip. Mine is worn out and won't hold now only after a few months of use. I tried bending the clips, but after 10 uses, the same problem occurs.
