Pre heating engine...

To tell you the truth that's the main reason I bought it. I used my engine warming time to overlook the truck, make sure I have enough fuel in my bottle, find my pitman that mysteriously disappeared, ect....... By that time my engine and chassis was warm and ready haul buttocks.

I still use a normal H1 bulb from a 1:1 car. Alu tape around the head, car upside down, power from 4s Lipo battery. At 20º Celsius the plug is 92º C after 5 minutes and 130º C after 15 minutes. One cm under the head the outside house temp are +85º after 15 min = the pinch point are at least 100ºC.

I use a heat gun to preheat my Novarossi's. My Black&Decker gun is rated for 1100F. Cost me equal of $19. Less than a minute on low speed is all that is required to bring the temp upto 190F. I constantly check the temp to avoid over heat. I direct it at the cylinder holding the gun at a distance.
Once heated, one touch on the starter is all that is required to fire up. I ensure there is a little after run oil in the cylinder on first start of the day.
I know competition heat works well. But I have issues which prevent me from buying it. First the cost is just insane. By the time, it reaches me from Amain with customs paid, I will get charged price of an engine. Second it doesnt work on 220V. The 12v version just pushes up the cost with Lipo.

1 minute and the outside of the block might be 190, But the Internals which are the most important to get heat into are still No where Near a pre heated point. You feel the cost is too much, But really think back to what we spend on these little "toys" is 100$ really that much in the Grand scheme of thing's. I think Not.

With the INR falling madly against the $, the cost I to pay for the Comp heat with shipping+customs is a lot of money which is enough to fuel my 1:1 Honda Jazz for 60 days.
