Here are the pics of the motor.

You can see the milling of the sleeve, the marks on the sleeve where we tried to

to get this thing out prior to milling it out.:(

Did everything we could to remove it. because we thought there must be

something wrong.

For the future, What must I do in order to get the sleeve out when it simply

won't come out??

Hi. Did I buy a new motor??

Well, this thing was sitting in the box for about mm. A year I think.

After this, I started running my Losi Electric because a friend of mine

wanted someone to run with. Electric has taken off really big here and

I thought I would join the bunch. This year, The weather has gotten so hot,

I put away the electrics because of the costly expense of breaking them.

(Burned up 1 Tekin and a Castle Creations just stopped running, Not overheated

Just after 1 lap) So. Nitro seems to work in most warmer temps.

It got me looking into repairing this motor. I brought my Rossi LSK back online

and after being in the box and installing it, 1 weekend later, the front bearing

started to leak. Replaced that bearing, and have it back in the Mugen.

As far as the Black Magic, I am playing with the Rossi Expandable exhaust

pipe to see how it works on our tight track. I can get the motor to product

gobbs of low end torque, but, not a lot of top end. I have expanded the pipe

and it runs better now, but, still need more top end for the straights.

It looks to me that the Rear Bearing went out and that is what made the motor Die i can see in the pic the Block has some marks wear the rear bearing is that shows the bearing was spinning in the block.

I am not sure way the Sleeve would not come out i have taken out 100s of sleeve's and i have never had one that would not come out with a little heat and a Big Zip Tie.

If you would have not cut on it i Might could have had Axe Rossi Fix it for you all Axe Rossi Motors have a 3 year Warranty but the way it sits i can do nothing to help you SORRY.

I will give this INFO Axe Rossi engines come with three year factory warranty for any manufacturing defect.

Axe Rossi has a GOOD Warranty i know i have sent back motors for people and in 2 to 3 weeks guys got NEW motors back from Axe Rossi.

Sorry. Had to read previous items.

Did I buy new??

Yes, I still have the box, and I think the papers that came wth the motor.

I kinda keep all that kinda stuff with all the motors I get new.

Where??

I don't remember if it was from Amain or Nitro House, or Stormers or locally

in town or Ebay.

Sorry. Don't remember which one.

I'll look for a receipt but, I usually don't keep the as motors don't usually have

a warranty.

Don't get me wrong.

I would love to get a replacement motor since I really like Rossi Products. :D

But, given, the motor (Piston/Sleeve) were pretty beaten up on my part

from trying to remove them. (Epoxy removed for some stupid reason by

someone else  (Thought the motor was gone and I was going to have to

rebuild anyway))

I don't expect anything. Maybe when this first happened, I should have

called Axe Rossi Directly and sent the motor in and had them deal with

the stuck piston/sleeve. (Given since many high end motors don't have a warranty, I thought the motor was my problem. )

Anyway, that's all I have.

If you want different angle pics let me know.

Thanks for listening.

I must say, I have been really happy with Rossi products and would be

glad to run them again. :D:D

BTW, is there going to be an X2 Evolution for the Mamba?? :sneaky:

Thanks :D

thought I was on my own)

THANKS for the Pic of the motor and as i said all Axe Rossi motors have a 3 year Warranty on them. As you said Most High end motors don't but Axe Rossi is one of the FEW Companies that Dose and they will back it up if the motor has a manufacturing defect.

If you buy another Axe Rossi and something happens to it send it to Axe Rossi are Me and we will get it looked at for you and let you know if its a Manufacturing Defect that messed up the motor and if so Axe Rossi will send you a new Motor.

On the Axe Rossi Mamba X2 i don't think right now Axe Rossi is looking to make a X2 Mamba But i could be Wrong. Right now they are doing like most companies and trying to make Lower priced motors under the $200.00 price range that run like $400.00 Motors.

The New Serpe Motor Axe Rossi has out right now is one BAD little motor for the Price and i can sale you one for under $200.00.

Axe Motors

Good to know. I see Amain has one on the listing.

I have about 200 dollars credit with them since I sent back the Mamba rebuild

kit for the motor that blew up.

Interestingly, I was going to rebuild the Mamba, but, the Sleeve would not fit

in the block and I was not going to push it.

I have a few choices for what I can do.

I have 2 more piston/sleevs for my Mamba
I have 2 more Piston/Sleeves for my Black Magic.

I am looking to rebuild my Mugen Ninja, my Callari, my Werks B7, Etc, etc.

I have a few projects I can do.

I didn't really want to add another motor to the stable, but, since I have lost

one maybe I'll go ahead and add one.

I really don't know what to get at the moment.

So many choices.

Werks looks goo right now. Price is good.

Another Mamba looks good as well.

I have never owned a Rossi Cobra. I hear they are a little soft on the bottom

end, but a screamer on top. A little pricey as well.

I have not owned a Nova Rossi .21 (.12 yes)
Plus 4 is expensive.

RB Concepts are looking good as well but, also expensive.

TQ Racing is another one I am looking at as well.

Falcon (a couple of years old is something I really wanted to play with

but at 5 bills, way out of my price range.

I have had each mfg, but, nothing current other than the Mamba.

All the Rossi engines I have had have lasted for a long time which is why

I keep rebuilding them.

Maybe I'll get another Mamba or the Supre line. Price is good. We will see.

BTW How does the new Supre compare to the Werks 2010 lineup??

I have raced the Serpe with Werks Motors and it will hold its on with any Werks Motor the Serpe motor is a SUPER SMOOTH motor its a good motor for some one that is looking for a lower priced motor but like the Power of the higher dollar motors if i was you i would give the Serpe a try and it dose have a 3 year Warranty i don't think Werks dose.

All so it takes the Serpe Motor around 1 to 1 1/2 gallons for it to run like a STRIPED APE but when you get that gallon to a gallon and a half on it LOOK OUT it will run. When i first got the Serpe i was thinking it was not that strong as some of the other Axe Motors but now i have some run time on it around 2 gallons and its one of the fastest Axe Rossi Motors i have and i have 2 x2 Cobra's.

Dr. Evil 08-02-2010 10:50 PM

Serpre

Fast is good, but, what about bottom end.

The tracks I am currently running on are pretty tight.

revsinc 08-03-2010 05:06 AM

I had a simliar problem to yours
I totally destroy the case trying to get the sleeve out to replace the rod
It was mega mega tight ..

Dr. Evil 08-03-2010 07:27 AM

Tight Sleeve

Hi. What caused your blow up.

no tot mention, what did you do with the engine?? :weird:

Thanks.

Dr. Evil 08-03-2010 12:27 PM

Bearing Size

O.K. Does anyone know the where I can get a rear bearing for

Black magic?? :weird: The size is a 14x25x5 from what I have seen.

The same bearing for an LSK.

Thanks.
