You may want to try an os p3 plug.
Hope this helps some
Thanks for everyones input, I didnt race with the JL this past weekend, didnt want to have to fight it until I tried another plug. I reinstalled my Dynamite and Qual'd 2nd and placed 2nd.
I did install a OS P4, and I would have to say that the plug I was running was too cold, the motor idles and doesnt bog down now. I will run it everyday, and race with it saturday.

I dont keep track too well, but safe to say I have at least 5 on my oldest one, they seem very long lasting so far, still passes the fall over test

Neal, is he serious? Either way I have learned more about my JL just speaking with you and your drivers than anywhere else...including OFNA. I will continue to listen and ask the Clockwerk Team for any information I need to keep my STOCK JL alive and at the peak of performance. It was this thread that got me interested in the JL and the help of you and Aaron that have got me this far...Thanks for ALL your help.

Ok. This motor rocks! History. 1 gallon breakin dont do any less. 7 full race days and its just now completly broken in. Best idling motor and consistant power. In practice today this motor ran great but was gaining power and I thought I had a air?/fuel leak. The engine was running 220 last week and now came of at 179 with more power. I went in 1 hour top and bottom and this motor was flat out Awesome. 25% Byron fuel. Neil was Dead on! Clockwork Engines rule! I'm running this motor twice a week and beating the balls off it. Lets see if it holds up. At this price what else should I do.

Can I pick em or can I pick em lol! You guys are having way too much fun with this motor!! I've got almost 8 gallons on the JL's brother the K9 with no rebuild and its still a beast. Keep spare orings for the HSN as I had one fail on me in our last pro series race. Motor kept going rich since the needle was backing out. clockwork motors are impressive, that idle with low temps, throttle response and power is hard to get.

You sure can buddy! You're the first one I can remember posting about the K9, and how well it performed...8 gallons and no rebuild is quite amazing for an engine in this price point. I couldn't be any happier with all of my Clockwork engines...they all had similar characteristics ( easy tuning, strong power, and good mileage )

Reggie, CONGRATS BUDDY! That's great news!

I ran my clocked JL Friday night at our first summer point series race on open buggy. We had the best of the best show up, so I had to race against Ryan Maifiled, Billy Fischer, Casey Peck, Trevor Clement, Chris Wheeler, Jerrell Gray, and at least 6 other expert drivers. I qualified 13th overall out of a field of 30 and the clocked JL was by far the fastest engine on the track. On the back straight my 808 was like a blur and I nothing could catch it. It ran great all night with Byrons 30% gen 2 a JP 2 pipe and a Mugen P5 plug. I got the hole shot and pulled out to an early lead but got T boned aand flipped at the first hair pin turn and the marshal watched as every other car on the track passed my before he flipped me over went from first to last in a hurry and wound up with 5th in my main and 15th overall but it was never the engines fault. No flame outs or any issues at all and just tons of power everywhere. Run times where right at 9 minutes with a 7 mm venturi, because the clocked JL's have milled carbs for inserts this is by far my favorite engine ever and it probably would not be if it wasn't for Neal. I also need to say that this was my first time running other than the novice class because running novice with this engine is like cheating

Was it your engine that was faster ( highly unlikely ) or was it your driving that was faster..... And were you making 10 minute pitstops ?

Your just a goofball. Really can't compare your expert driving skills against my novice driving skills but if you want to drag race I'm ready! My Clocked JL will eat your stocker for breakfast even with the RB carb that you are forced to run
