So how long until we know how they compare to the incredible Picco P7Rs?

We will be racing one in January, I am unsure of the date tho..... its too cold here right now for me to do anything ( -23F )........So far from what I see i can say that i think it will be able to make more RPM then the Picco, i would expect the powerband to be somewhere between a Go 7 port and a Picco P7 ...it has a wider boost port then the Picco which will allow it to breath a little better on the topside, but wont be quite as efficient off idle and in the low end as the Picco is.... And it has a relatively tight exhaust port so it will have more torque then the Go 7 port.... I haven't measured compression or timing yet so I am speaking about port structure and layout only..... For modding potential it should be very good, unless the timing is too extreme the motor will work well......I like the port layout , I also like the piston.. it is actually a machined billet piston which you usually don't see on the budget engines , most use cast pistons... A billet piston is usually harder which means it wears slower and lasts longer......All in all its a pretty slick engine and I am very eager to work with them...

I finished break-in friday night, had about 3/4 gallon on engine and it was a power house. Went to the race next day and I couldnt keep it running I think I got lost in the tune or needed a hotter plug, but no access to try one. Was running od 97 ttr 2035 pipe,20% byrons seems really good on fuel, but I pulled it out for the main, put my SH in and ran 20 mins no problem.
I need more time with this engine, I have been running SH for 5 years and they dont tune the same. The force would run fine on the box, soon as I got up to speed or went of a jump it would flame at random times, I will get it dialed in this week I have sealed the engine and removed two shims, mabye I should put some sealant around the main needle as well. It has about a gallon in and still has metal pinch when cold.

You don't think you forgot something on your clutch setup do you Not saying you don't know you stuff. Hopefully it was something minor

It was a new clutch and bearings, I think it was a tuning/plug problem, I just need more time with the needles

Oh ok. This engine maybe a little finicky or may not need much tuning. How did it sound and perform the first gallon during break-in??

Plug/Tune would be my guess.

Pretty sure you should be running Picco Plugs and Not OD.

Judging from what I see so far the issue may be low nitro %,cooler plug and too many head shims...the JLR appears to be over shimmed..I will measure one up hopefully later today.......lower nitro, cooler plug and not enough compression will make for a weaker running engine without question......

Maybe after you get some time with this engine you can recommend a glowplug and how it should be shimmed for max power I realize the ofna guys will tell everyone to run Picco glowplugs, but they are too expensive for my taste.
