Default fuel change

what's the effect to the motor if it was broken in and ran with byron 30/9 then change to VP 30/9? anyone recommend this?

Jeremy, do you know if VP only comes with 30/9 or also come with 30/11? thanks

I made the switch from S&W to VP and had to lean the top and bottom 2 hours. Having never run Byrons, I would guess that you might have to do something similar maybe only an hour up to maybe 3 hours. Tune to smoke and sound and use temperature as a guide.

You'll be fine. I have changed fuel a few times and it's been at most a minor adjustment to the needles.

Default LSN loosening

Hey guys need a little info form you...

So yesterday was the 2nd race day running my Alpha A852, my pit man was telling me that my low speed needle is loosening by it's self. he said he adjusted it to 2 o'clock position and when it came back in after race needle was passed 12 o'clock position almost to 11. How could I fix this issue? I'm guessing needle is backing off from motor vibration right?

I was think some lock tite might fix it but wanted your guy's input 1st.

thanks in advance!

Started break-in today and everything is going great. Although the engine is tight, it still is a pretty hassle free break-in. I think the biggest thing that might give people problems is the original plugs. If I would have missed Rex's post about it not working well, I might have had a lot more issues. Just like Rex and Lance said, the original plugs flame as soon as you take the igniter off the engine. I tried to make it work but after the second time, I just grabbed a OD 97T and it worked great.

I had to raise the idle and lean the HSN a little to complete the first tank and after that all has been smooth. I am only on tank 4 but have soom work to do and I'm hoping I can get back to it and finish it up today. I also shot a little video footage of how the engine is running during break-in. After I am completely finished, I will post it up. I can tell this engine wants to rev, even on break-in.

Sounds like it needs a simple LSN ORing replacement.....

In the past, I have used plumber tape (only on the threaded part) to help keep the needles in place.

You need to replace the high speed o-ring. I have some if you cant find them locally.

Ok guys i want to give VP a try. They are mostly available locally. We'll see tomorrow. Thanks!

EDIT: First couple of tanks, i kept chasing the tune. I changed the plug and she kept the tune like always.
