So your saying the bearing sets flush or past the end of the crank? What I'm asking is the clutchbell hitting the flywheel pins or is the binding caused by screwing the screw on the end of the crank?

The bearing does not sit flush to the end of the crank. So the screw can not go all the way in the crank shaft and will freeze the bearing if you screw it down to tight. The bell does not rub on the pins.

I don't have the werks clutch so mind you I'm just throwing this out there, losi makes a piece that goes on the end of the crank to give you the extra room you need or in the past when i've experienced this I just run the Ofna Narrow clutchbells which are not as tall as the standard ones. Just giving ya some options maybe you could change the collet but I'm not sure :)

Well found out why my B5 would not hold an idle. No more compression at a gal and a half. Hopefully the next one will last longer.

Last round of the RCPro east held in Dalton,Ga at Dalton R/C...

The B5 with a JP4 pipe delivered the most consistent power and lap times Ive had since starting the Werks program...Held the TQ time through all 4 qualifiers in some of the tightest racing you could see...And went on to win the A main even after my head went into "TARD" mode....From the front to the back and back to the front the R/C gods were happy with my choices this weekend!

Thanks Ron...

I broke my idle screw today. As I rolled the throttle linkage off with some pliers the ball link rotated. At fist I thought the ball link was loose, but when I took the carb apart it was the idle screw that broke and the entire barrel was rotating.

no compression at a 1.5 gals? must have done something crazy...my bt is over 6 and my b5 is over 5 now and they run better then they did at the 2 gallon mark...

Here is what you need to give you a little breathing room on the end of your crank:

If you need even more room:

Well I have over 3 gallons on my B5 now and it is running awesome. Also have had the chance to breakin, run and tune my friends B6. The werks motors are outstanding. Now how about the B7 pro? would I have just as much success with it? Has it been updated to the 2010 carb yet?? What pipe works best with it?

Thanks for the info

IMO the B7's ive seen over the years were hit and miss....Every once in a while you would see one that would really impress you, but on the other hand ive seen many of B7's not want to run properly and give the user problem's.

Plus fuel mileage was crap with them.

part of this was the carb on the b7's...

werks engine choice is simple

B5-Truggy
B6-Buggy

pipes-
2013 truggy
2057 buggy

of course you can mismatch the combos but thats a good rule of thumb :)

I have broken 2 idle screws as well...both times Werks took care of me. First time durning break in, next at the 3 gallon mark.

Are they just snaping or is it from a sideload (maybe throttle linkage is pulling to one side or from removing the ball end for linkage) or from over doing epa's?

This why I was wondering if Ron had updated the B7 with the 2010 carb

I've seen that happen a few times. Good of werks to take care of it though.
