I was a big fan of the Collari B3s, glad to see the lineup is still going strong. Are Werks and Collari synonomous? Since I'm usually a club racer, customer support means more to me than just about anything. I'll give the B5 a shot for sure Werks, thanks for taking the time to provide so much information.

I think it was around 5 or 6 years ago we took over the production of the Collari line of engines so I guess you could say that it's all in the same family! Thanks for being open to trying one of our B5's, take a look through the thread there is a lot of info here. If you have any questions, as usual please do not hesitate to ask.

Update on the B5!

So I went to revelation tonight! And Ron you lied. I didn't see kortz or bradley! lmao. It was all good. I had some issues getting the tune right. turned out to be a junk plug. Over all it has some good power. I think I may try 1.1 spings on my clutch. I like more a punch.

OH I had a motor mount come loose. the engine hit the chassis so hard that it put a dent in it! Ask Alan he saw it! I'm going to tear down the engine and take a really close look at it. I'm worried about the crank. But I must say.... I could have bolted it back up and ran. I didn't really break anything. Alan it turns out that the spur gear was just fine.

I'm going to make it out to the track as much as possible. EVERYONE is so nice there. I got a couple of compliments on my paint job... (idk why i think it looks pretty bad.. maybe it looks really good far away!)

Anyways. B5 did not disappoint! I didn't time any runs but it was noticeable on how much fuel wasn't used.

Anyways I'm getting pretty stoked! The more and more I go out the more improvement i see. So I can't wait to get somewhat decent at tuning so This thing can run at it's full potential! Hope I see you guys out there more often!
Thanks for everyone that helped me tonight! if they happen to see this =P

Lol, Kortz called me when he was heading over there around 9 in the morning, think he was done early afternoon! He was just breaking in an engine and testing his set up. I'm heading out of town for the weekend so I'm not sure what the schedule is going to be for the race this weekend but I'm assuming it's a 2 day race so he will be there over the weekend also if you happen to make it back out.

Regarding the clutch set up, work on getting the engine tune set right and get some fuel through it before you start playing with the springs. Running 1.1's is going to give a LOT of punch on a properly tuned engines and it might be some what difficult to control. The bottom on this engine should be as much as if not more than the V-Spec so it has a lot!

As far as the case is concerned, I've never seen one get dented before lol, so congrats that is a first ;-) Take a look at it and if it is anything that looks like it might affect the engine shoot me a PM. I'm sure that I have a case laying around here some where that I can dig up to send you in order to help out a starving student! Just consider it part of the Ronbama Stimulus Package Everyone have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Regards,

Ron Hopkins

hahaha Ron you have NO clue I have to send you my chassis just so you can look at it. I'll see if I can find a decent camera and get a picture. I'm using red lock tite from now on... the real stuff not the crap from the hobby shop. I know I locktited that engine in. But it did make for a good story... =P

well Mr. Ronbama! looks like all is good. Case looks good crank looks good. So all is good.
The cooling head is bent and scratched... So that means this thing is fully broken in!

Great build Ron!

Had a chance to try the Bigboy pipe (2056) on the B5 today. Was getting the tune where I wanted and then it started changing on me. I was cranking needles for a while then I noticed an unusual noise. It seems the baffle was loose in the pipe. I did get hit on that side enough to push the stinger in a bit, but I didn't think it was that bad. Put the 2013 back on two min before the main and the tune stayed rock solid. The engine really came alive tonight so I'm going to have to de-tune the clutch from where I had it. The Bigboy pipe was brand new for today so I'm pretty disappointed that it didn't even make it one club race day. I don't know if I'll be able to get a replacement before next weekends race. I may wait to see what Kortz's comments are about the pipe.

It is hard to find the 2013 because the B5 is selling so good but you can find them on ebay type 230368274590 in the search on ebay or search 2013

its awesome how after the motor breaks in how solid it holds a tune....
and I think its impressive to push the stinger in on teh bigboy pipe when the stinger is only a 1/4 inch long you da man!!!!!!
what kind of runtime did you get with the 2013?? I just got one to try and plan to try it this weekend

Pushing the stinger in on the big boy pipe takes true talent and skill! Good job! Anyone got a 2013 they're getting rid of?
