different companies rate things differently...since there are quite a few factors that determine a glowplugs timing its difficult to have a standardized rating system..... the things that affect a glowplugs heat range are..mass of glowplug body, the more mass it has, the more heat it stores, filament diameter, the thinner the filament the hotter, as well as filament exposure in the plug body...the more exposed the filament, the hotter the plug...and lastly filament composition and coating... The higher the amount of Titanium, the more reactive the the plug is.......... So unfortunately it basically leaves us to trial and error to find the right plug...from my experience all the OD plugs are very hot, with very large bodies...... even tho the OS P4 is listed as hotter, it seem to function cooler......... I am not by any eans a glowplug expert, so this is the best I can offer on the subject...

Here in SoCal we have at least 15 people running the JS engines with great success. The P5 plug is important in warm weather due to timing and deck height. We have tried the ODs and they are just too hot. Good plugs...just not for this engine.
The 086 pipes work well....most are running it. I run the 9901...personal preference...really good in the buggy. |

i run od 97t in my alpha engines. one plug was used to break in one motor then went about a gallon after that. and is now in my other alpha that is being broken in. but i am changing it out before i start race tuning it.. i have had GREAT luck with the odonnell plugs lasting a while.. it dose not mean that os plugs are any less though. i just have motors that run well on the cheaper plugs.. :nod: |
Each brand has their own definition of hot and cold. Just know that the medium/hot 97t is about the same as the p3, acutally a bit hotter!

Attended first round (out of 5) of the Danish National Championship in Truggy last saturday.
Qualified 8 and went directly to the semi's. Unfortunately missed out on the final as I ended up 6 in he semi and only top 5 went on to the final. Anyway, I'm driving the full mod and it really did a good job. Very reliable and mindblowingly fast. Definitely as fast as any other engine in the pack Have run three gallons through it and all is still good. Jacob :p |

just wanting some opinions on engines, i am trying to choose between the limited edition v-spec and the full mod js motor, i kinda like the js motor but the v-spec and js are the same price. which should i get, thanks...:tire:

JS with out a doubt. Besides the fact that the JS will out last the V-Spec, the JS has way more performance than the limited edition V-Spec. A full mod motor for $329 you can't beat that value. My Race prep more than blows my ninja out of the water.

that's my choice, js perfect. Anybody have any pipe suggestions for a truggy. I have got a j-p3 and a o.s. 2050 pipe already will those work ?... thanks for the help...
