Just to let everyone know the sirio crank part no. s12 081200 is for the non-turbo crank and part no. s12 081300 is the tubo crank.

On the sirio website it shows a picture of the turbo crank againt part no. s12 081200 (which has been pionted out to me).

Shiston,

Actually both are Evo2 turbo cranks the difference is that:

PN° S12-081200 is the EFRA version of it (no chamfer on the outlet hole and the scoop doesn't meet the outlet hole).

PN° S12-081300 is the IFMAR version of it (big chamfer on oulet hole and huge scoop that comes from inside the crank flute).

PN° S12-081100 was the old style non turbo crank for the Sirio S12TRP/R

Hope this clears the issue

first raceday with my first gas car today - been heavily into electric for last 8 years so i'm only new to the petrol head side of things...

i was impressed with how the sirio went. i bought the s12-tup evo2 for the team magic g4 i also bought - and i was really impressed with the performance! was keeping up with a highly modified NovaMega in strightline speed and through the infield, when i got used to driving it hehe talk about balls ;) and all i was doing was driving not really pushing it too hard.

i am seriously thinking of buying the 3port turbo version of the sirio for the state and nationals where 5ports are not legal to run yet as far as i know yet...

is there anything i should do etc to keep the motor in good condition - i would have put at least 10 to 12 tanks through it now, with the first just idle then 2 just putting around driveway slowerly and 3 on and off power for short bursts around local track.

it was mentioned by a local guru that i should buy another conrod now the motor is 'run' in and replace the plug now as any fillings etc from breakin can get caught in plug and can cause damage.. damn i'm glad i dont need to use my screwdriver rarly to unlock her anymore, that was a biach...

where is the best place to buy sirio parts and accessories? ie. piston & liners, plugs yada yada at a good price... seems to be a hard brand to get usefull information and parts for from the looks i have done on the net so far.

any help is appreciated ;)

I heard that Sirio has a $100 exchange policy. If anything breaks or doesn't function right, you can send it back to them with $100 for a new one.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Head shims

Hi,

There are 2 head shims that come with the sirio engine. One is thinner than the other. What are the thickness of these shims and do I need to remove any to get the right setting as recommened by Andrea Rossi when running 16% nitro and a C7TGF plug.

Cheers

The thick one is 0.20mm. The thin one is 0.10mm. Remove the thin one which will leave you with the.020mm, which is good up to 20% nitro.

Thanks again AFM ;)

I will remove the thinner shim tonight.
I've still got both shims in my old sirio 12, I'll will remove the thin one from it as well.

Ok, now I've got the shimming fixed, I'm having trouble about how I'm going to go about attaching the propeller to the SG crank for running in?
Any pics?

hi...

Please include the EFRA homologation number if possible.....

thankz!!!!!!!

Dynamite 09-23-2004 01:56 AM

where can i buy piston/liners and other parts and accessories etc for my sirio s12-tup evo2 (its the 5 port turbo version with the sg crank) searches so far have been fruitless... even the shopatron site from trinity... i just want to get some spares for my baby before i need something i dont have :(

any help appricated ;)

unless this is the right one...

12 Piston/Sleeve 6 Port "Outlaw" - Replacement piston and sleeve for Sirio .12 "Outlaw" SP12-TRPPRO(T). ABC Construction, six ports, 5 intake ports - 1 exhaust port. Not ROAR legal.

but i would have thought it would have had 4 intake and 1 exhaust port making it 5... i'm only new to nitro, so i really have no idea lol..

Racing4Evo 09-23-2004 08:29 PM

The exhaust port doesn't count when describing what # of port engine you are talking about. That sounds like the one you want. There are no 6 port engines anyway.

Dynamite 09-24-2004 01:14 AM

cool, no worries evo thanks for the clarification, i thought it was weird having an even amount of ports...

i check the parts number against the ones listed on star motors site later on on in the evening and it is the same part number as the one listed against my motor so it must be the right one.

also... just out of curiosity... can i turn my 5port into the 3port turbo version by getting the 3port evo2 sleeve? or are the blocks different?
