MTX-3 Kid 02-06-2005 04:39 PM

I bought the WCR edition combo exhaust, etc and when I recieved it from RCMART I found that upon opening the box I saw that the exhaust had a decent sized dent in it. I sent away a few e-mails with pictures of the damage to RCMART after they requested it and I never got a reply back from them. I bought this weeks ago and I still have not recieved an e-mail back. Not happy Jan. :flaming: :flaming:

Beware when you buy overseas

gentleman81 02-06-2005 04:50 PM

so what does this super sirio and pipe cost?

MTX-3 Kid 02-06-2005 05:02 PM

I got it for $450 AUD shipped.

Don't know of any factory modified Sirio 5 ports, maybe it's modified by somebody else. BEWARE.
The only Sirio based engines that I now as factory modified are the Lamberto Collari engines, modified by his father Mauro Collari.
that are sold by www.werksracing.com and as i speak they only had the regular Collaris 3 and 5 port, but were going to import the Mauro Collari modidfied versions.

hi afm, i bought the 5 ports two days ago and it was confirmed by the shop owner that this is the 5 port factory modified.. he even showed me the piston of the other 5 port.. i've attached some pics of it.. thanks!

You are not showing me any comparative pictures of so said "factory mods" all you are showing me is a box and the
S12 TUP EVO2 engine, but it doesn't show anywhere it is a moded engine.
Maybe your LHS is comparing the old S12 TUP with the new EVO2, but that doesn't mean the Evo2 is a factory moded engine, it's just a new model with obvious changes to the old one.
I still sustain there are no factory modified Sirios for sale on the market.

It doesn't matter, just enjoy your engine, you've made a good buy
Evo 2 Sirios are very fast engines. If you wan't a fast comparative to know what you bough, the external difference between old TUP and new Evo2 TUP's is the cooling head. Old one doesn't have the sirio lgo and Evo2 letters printed on top, and it is much smaller, and i think it was black.

thanks for the heads up Dynamite.. how much did you paid for your engine? the reason i asked is just to confirm if there really are 2 versions of the 5 port engine as told by the shop owner.. i got mine for S$380. btw, the other 5 port is going for S$295. lastly, would it be possible for you to post some pics of the sleeve? thanks in advance! :)

Dynamite 02-07-2005 12:48 AM

sure orange,

go back a page... i didnt take a shot of the sleeve in particular, but you can see it on the bench in the background.

i will take some photo's of it when i get the engine out of the car... against my better judgement i used the the phillips screws that came with my rrr kit for the engine... and one stripped trying to get it out, i swear they are butter soft :( anyways i will get you some good ones when i get it out some time late this week - can you get me some good pics of your sleeve too?

TRPI / WC difference ?

I have purchase an EVo II TRPI (and really like the perfomance / reliability) and will be putting the EFRA Legal cank in it so i guesse it's soon to be a TRPE. My question is.... The WC box edition with pipe is a good deal and consider bying one but when looking at star website there is no breakdown/part nos of WC edition. I would like to buy WC and put EFRA crank in so im EFRA legal.Does anybody know the difference between the TRPI and WC edition. The crank seems an obvious one but other than that is what im proposing feasible.?

Cheers

In Spain, and I guess in rest of Europe, they sell the WCR edtion in EFRA configuration.
Haven't seen one yet, but my guess is that WCR engines must have different timing than TRP (I) or (E)
In Spain you could call Carlos Ducay from Micromodel and ask him
+34-91-4463820. That is where I buy my Sirios. Tell him Alfonso from Peru sent you.

Brasil has tropical weather, so it should be ok.
Any engine can perform in hot weather, if it is properly tuned.
Actually in Sirio's web site there are no power figures for any engine. The specs on all 3 ports and the 5 port TUP are the same bore , stroke, etc. So it's a quetion of rules, either you run outlaw or you run legal.

Thanks..... I was looking at the maura collari tuned 12tup Evo engine which is selling for around 300$ or so. Heard a lot of good things about it comparing the price and all i was thinking of going for this. what would you suggest......

You can't go wrong with a Mauro Collari tuned engine. Is there a web site were I can check what you are beeing offered for $300.00

this looks more like the werks racing L. Collari engines.. are they the SAME ???

The price at Nitrometano, which is a Spanish forum site, is 300 Euros, which is about U$390.00. The picture there is of the first Collari engines which didn't have the Low Center Gravity cooling head.
The Collari's shown at Werks Racing are the new ones with LCG head, but they are the Standard versions, not the Mauro Collari modified, they will have the MC's later on the year....but still, the 3 port Collari has proven 1.6 bhp on the dynamometer...you can expect a different power band on the moded version, but not much power increase...but about U$100.00 price increase...is it worth???...I think the Werks Collari has enough power, because it is IFMAR-ROAR spec. If you buy in Europe most likely it will be EFRA spec, which has more tuning restrictions on crank.
So my guess is that a regular IFMAR spec Collari will have more power than a Moded EFRA spec engine.

Even though it is an early Sirio engine, it should be the equivalent of today's Sirio S21 RR, which is 3rd rated 7 port .21 Sirio engine.
First two are the S21 WCR and S21 PR-PRO.
Go to www.star-motor.com

How does it compare to other brands on the market??.......i don't have experience with .21 engines..sorry i only work with .12's

If you want a 5 port Sirio, I would suggest you buy the Collari LC12 PRO 5, either at Werks Racing, or in this German distributor
http://www.serpent.at/action/collari/collari.html

You can't go wrong with it...plus for your hot summers you'll be better off with the AAC P/S. They sustain better high temps, high rpm operation.

It's time you make a decision, or you'll go crazy asking same questions all over the forum.

Agreed 110%, thats why i just ordered the 12 tup from teamtrinity through shopatron.

There is a slight confusion though i thought you might know. The sirio sight has the 12 tup showing with the short type shaft now in the description it says SG shaft which is required for the RRR or FW...

I think they put the wrong picture ? ?

12 tup AF is the other small one
12 tup is the SG shaft.......

i got the second one ...... hope i am safe ! :)

hi i was wondering which would be the fastest motor of these three:
M. collari modified sirio EVO2
sirio S12 WCR EVO2 w/pipe and manifold
werks racing LC12PRO3

also, does the S12 WCR EVO2 come with a spare conrod and bearings etc. like the 21 worlds motor?

Hi AFM

Can you just let me know, what type of fuel to be used with the Sirio'ss and do i need to add/remove shims incase i use higher Nitro

On a .12 engine it is safe going 0.10mm over or under 0.46mm, so that is 0.36mm or 0.56mm, of total head clearance.
Generally on a .12 engine 0.10mm will change the compression ratio about 3/4 to 1 point.

Never assume that the head shim that is on the engine is the actual head clearance, in many cases you will find that the engine actually has 0.20mm to 0.15mm without any head shim.

Sirio's have 0.20mm without shims, and the factory installs 0.30mm shims, giving the engine 0.50mm stock head clearance.

It is best to measure the head button recess and the piston to the top of the liner at top dead center and subtract, to determine proper shim. This is the only way to really know.

You can safely use 25% Nitro on the stock head clearance.

Add shims for higher nitro contents, and reduce shims for lower nitro contents.

HI AFM

thanks for the info. I am using 30% nitro while racing since its what i had got earlier. but this is on the OS TR - T i have. I think i will settle for the 25% nitro and 16 oil that we have from Cool power..... but the problem is while racing that we only have to use the sponsor fuel of 30% nitro with 12 oil from byron !!

In this situation i have to add another shim over the existing shim!!

When you get your engine, measure the shims that come with it, measure actual combustion chamber without shims as i allready explained, AND THEN WE'LL SEE WHAT SHIMS YOU NEED FOR EACH FUEL.
