Hey guys, i have a used sirio evo 4 engine that is already broken into! is it a good idea to take the engine apart and clean everything out so it can look new again?! or should i leave it alone?! ThankYou! :tire::sweat::tire:

Hi guys,

question for those Sirio .12 cracks.
Which pipe, other than the 2611 is working with the Evo 4 and XXX engines?

I got the following choices: Max 2602, Mielke 2501, Picco 2607, IDM 2617, Picco 2651, Mielke 2624.

Thanks.

just wondering why you want to run any other pipe other than the 2611 or the new numbered pipe, they are the best by far.

i do run the 2611 and it's a great pipe for these engines, but it also by far the most expensive pipe available here.

I have all those other pipes and wanted to know what else can be used with Sirio's , in case somebody flattens my 2611.

So, have you tried other pipes?

Cheers.

Stefan, I would go with the IDM 2617...it is the closest by design to the Sirio 2611.....I haven't tried it, so I'm basing my suggestion on pure measuremets.

hope it helps

Looks like no modded Ex-tech .24's out there. I will have to wing it. JP-4 with an 8 plug and 30%. I quess I'll see how it goes.

Hey Stefan I run the XXX with the 2611, How ever the newest Sirio V K comes with a 2653 or 2652 I cant remember the # and it also has a conical manifold. Will be trying it at club racing this w/end. I ran the motor with the 2611 and run time and power was fine but am told I should notice a difference with the pipe and manifold that came with it. The new one has a slightly forward angled stinger and is a bit shorter on the stinger as well. Will post again after Sunday's club racing.

The description of that new pipe sounds like the illegal version of the 2611 pipe.

There isnt anything illegal about it. It just wasnt homologated correctly. It has now been homologated with its own number now and is ok to race.

I havent tried it yet either. Hopefully picking up a xxxv and new pipe today. :D

Hey Noel,

Let me know how you go with the new pipe. We arent racing for a couple of weeks so I wont get to try it until next month.

My 2nd XXX engine was flying last club day. Its still running in so wasnt making run time but damn it was fast. Cant wait to try the xxxv and new pipe combo.

Have you run the V since the Qld titles?

I do have one of the illegal pipes as well Scott I bought it late last year,And yes it does mirror the illegal 2611. The one in the box with the latest Sirio has the # on it 2653 and also appears to come with a conical manifold. I think this is now the homolagated version of the illegal 2611 now making it legal I think. This is just my guess though.

I understand that, but if you have one of the "new" pipes with the 2611 number on it, it is not legal to run... therefore it is illegal.

Hey Barg, No mate it was a total strip down for the car after the titles ready for this Sunday's club day. I am going to try it with the pipe and manifold and see what the difference may be. What do you think will be the difference with the new pipe and manifold ? I am putting P&L's through my 3 XXX's and then getting another k so thats 4 engines to run in between now and the nats. It will be interesting to see the difference between the xxx's and the k on your track if any.

Thats correct Scott..... It is the number that is making it illegal not the actual design.

I only raised it as people may read "illegal" and jump up and down when the pipe with the new number is legal. :D

Wow, your going to be busy. The engines take so long to run in that your going to have do some serious laps with that many.

I dont think there will be too much difference with the pipes. I ran the new pipe with the wrong number on it and didnt notice any performance advantage. Havent checked run time yet so that may improve hopefully.
