Update from RedRC....

UPDATE: Andrea Rossi has confirmed to us that Star Motor Engineering will produce the new line up of Team Orion engines, but he also assured us that despite continued ‘rumours’, both he and Sirio are staying put. Good news.

There is...;)

This morning I called the German Sirio distributor about the article on RedRC. He turned around and called Andrea Rossi who in turn was quite surprised that he's supposed to not work in his company anymore.

He then contacted Eoghain to update the rumour

The best rumor is when it has to be updated like redrc did
I was surprised myself that picco's would still in fact produce parts for the CRF & thought the same that a contract most likely has to be fulfilled 1st before it would be striclty be made @ Star Motors IMO

Can you explain to me why Orion is infiltrating Sirio (Star motors) and still let their top engine with all kind of innovations (whats left of it) produced by Picco? Sounds like a kind of odd to me......

Hostile takeover of one of the engine manufacturer that can make an engine faster than Picco?

Lets wait until the Neurnberg Toyfair.

+1

Hi guys,

is there a simple way to put a Sirio EVO 4 STI in a Mugen MTX4????

I have tried to mount one in my car and the carburator slide is hitting my top deck completely.

Do I have to butcher the radio plate or raise the engine?

Thanks

Didn't the motor come with two different ball cup mounts for the slide? One was smaller than the other becasue of this problem on the MTX-4. I know on the EVO 3 STI, it came with two.

Stefan did you try to change the angle on the carb to clear the deck

what's the actual difference between evo3 and evo4 rods? i mean how to tell evo3 rod from evo4 rod? length, hole size or...

in addition, i noticed that evo and sti rods are of different p/n; what's the difference? :weird:

Evo3 has a smaller hole on the conrod that connects to the piston pin, smaller hole on the piston
Evo 4 piston hole, piston pin, conrod is larger than the Evo3 so you can not interchange certaun parts. I have used a Evo 4 piston & complete rod in a Evo 3 sleeve with an evo 4 crank & vice versa

Yep! I have had many different engines in that car but never a Sirio. I angled the carb away from the tank as usual and I also rotated the uniball.

The entire carb seems to sit quite a bit lower than on Nova or Picco engines.

I guess I will have to take some material off the radio plate and also shim up the motor a tad.
