Is it a EFRA type crank? As these seem to be the only ones breaking. No one that i know of at the worlds had a drama and they were all IFMAR cranks.

I have come to the conclusion that my engine is just plain worn out. Can push the piston all the way to the top of the liner.

i have two sti's and 2 evo3's and i have only broken the cranks on the early evo3's before they fixed the crank.
how do you run them in?

ae_ntc3 09-19-2006 03:55 AM

heres a little info i got at the worlds from the sirio boys. they said the sti's work best with sirio 7 plugs and the sirio 2611 pipe. they ran effortlessly through all the 10 days!

Wally, you can't run stock gearing in Hamilton especially since you enter the straight via a sweeper. You have a huge run up to the sweeper plus the straight, that's alot of stress on a motor with stock Mugen gearing. My RRR's second gear ratio is maxed.
