i was planning on putting one of these on my slayer. What clutch/pipe would you recommend me getting. I was thinking a losi 8ight clutch/flywheel and a dynamite 053 pipe. Would that setup work ok??

isn't this too much motor for a slayer? those things have narrow tires. you might have all sorts of traction issues.

So who's gonna volunteer to post up pics of the sleeve from one of the new Losi 350 engines? I'd like to see it alongside the Dynamite and the SWerks V2.

You can go on losi.com and look at the parts for the 350 and see at least a partial view of the sleeve. It looks like it probably is only a 3 port. But it would be awesome if someone would post up pictures of one so we could know for sure.

I must say I'm pretty impressed with this engine. I finally got to race it this last weekend and even with the temperature dropping 15+ degrees during the racing and causing it to run lean, I still didn't have any trouble with it running bad or flaming out. I was actually still running the glowplug that came in it (Dynamite #5) up until right before the mains. I only put a new one in it just to be safe. The old one still looks good, so I will probably put it back in for practice. The engine isn't ballistic, but it makes pretty good power from bottom to top. I was running a three shoe clutch with 1.1mm springs, but I think it should pull 1.0mm springs no problem (I like a lot of snap). I think if anyone out there is looking for a good backup/club race engine, this thing is perfect I paired mine up with a Dynamite 053, and I couldn't be happier with an engine/pipe combo that is less than $175.

I know the Dynamite motors of the past like to be ran a little hot. What temps are you guys running these? A guy I know was racing his and it was kinda slow. It was running about 210 degress. I think he needs to lean it out more.

I've been breaking mine in a tank or two at a time as I would get a chance to over the last couple of weeks since I bought it. I've run about a Liter of fuel through it. Last night I ran it on a track for the first time and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It's still rich on the bottom but it seemed plenty fast once it would clean out. I think this is gonna make a pretty decent practice/club race type engine.

Mine is paired with a DYN053 pipe, like the previous poster said it makes a nice combo for under $200. The only question now is how long will it last? I'll probably swap the rod out after a gallon or so and then we'll see how long she goes.

Mine was a bit on the lean side after the weather changed and it cooled off and it was running around 270*. I think it will probably run around 240* tuned right, but I'm not going to tune mine for temp. At home running it in my yard I could make it scream only running 220-230*. I did notice that mine doesn't like to be very lean on the bottom, if I try to tune it as the manual suggests (pinch test), it lean bogs and loses bottom end. If I keep it on the rich side, it runs great.
