Team Orion Engines
#1666
Oddball question: Do Team Orion engines come sealed in the box? I'd hate to purchase one that has been sitting in a counter being turned over by every kid that walks in the store. Most of my other (electric) Team Orion stuff has been sealed. (Except my new touch screen charger.)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes, I have tried everything I can think of accept for checking all the parts with precision measuring tools. I have sealed the engine, changed o-rings in the carb, replaced the carb with one from a different Orion, new fuel system from tank to lines, new exhaust, different mills, fuel cooler, no fuel cooler, extra fuel filter no extra fuel filter, taken out shims added shims, new glow plugs, different fuel, different flywheels, collets, new clutch springs, new shoes. Hell I even changed the head button out with the new one from my 2012 Orion CRF 5 port. The only thing that seemed to work but it still isn't reliable was what Monty told me to do and take the carb out, blow through the fuel line, then take the needles out and blow through the line again, and then to clean all the needles and reassemble it. After doing this I was able to get my first tank of fuel through the engine, however shortly after the first tank the same problem all over again. I once again did what he said but this time I put an entirely new fuel system on the car, new tank and lines. Sometimes it can run about 5 minutes or half a tank, other times hardly at all. I have never checked my temp and found it over 250, I think the highest was like 248. When it dies it usually starts right back up no problem. The saddest thing in the world is that this engine is awesome when it is running. It is wicked fast on the straights, tons of low end power and literally pulls away from all the other engines on the track, even the new OS Speed's and 7 port Novarossi's
swap the carb and remove 1 thin head shim...........

already did it. Put the carb from my 7 port Orion that runs 11 minutes on one tank, also took out a thin shim. I am beginning to wonder if the case is not cracked, I have now heard of 2 other engines where their cases were cracked very quickly.
Yes Orion engines come sealed in a box, if not then the hobby shop took it out for a display.

I ordered the ORI80691 (CRF Buggy 21 3 Ports Factory Tuned Engine) and the ORI88217 (Off-Road .21 Tuned Pipe & Manifold Kit, EFRA 2013) today. Hopefully that is a good combo!

I think the 2013 pipe is a good pipe but the 2058 is a bit better. But there should be no disappointments with your 2013. From what I hear and have seen the 2058 and the jp3 pipes seem to be great pipes on all engines, clearly some nova guys will argue their pipes are better but you can put a 2058 on any engine and have it run good, some are better for a more specific need but for all around good pipes the 2058 and jp3 are those go to pipes.

Hi Fella's
Thought i would chat in and share my CRF as well. It is one of the older Orion's. I like it with the JP3 pipe. I get 10 min's runtime with gob's of power. It rips my 8 with no struggle at all. Great Engines IMO!

Hey guys need help
I broke my conrod and piston on my cody king motor
This is a 5 port motor
Question is can i change the piston/sleeve to a 3 port
Are they compatible, even the conrod?
I've always used Sidewinder 20% nitro
Since this the only available fuel on our LHS
I got 6 gallons on my Cody king motor before i broke the conrod and piston
No luck, always retune this motor everytime, hard to stay it on low idle
Maybe thats why it wears quickly.
Just need some suggestion if i can change it to 3 port piston/sleeve???

good day, i need buy a new engine, and i see the new Orion CRF ORI80692 (5 port) an CRF ORI80691 (3 port), i need some advice for to find out which motor buy.
i have a losi 8ight buggy 2.0, my track is short y technical, have many jump, for my is very important the botton end, and a good runtime (actually my OS run 11 minutes) I have doubts if motor 3 ports, is very slow in the straight lines.
my other dude is if a 5 port, give me a 12 minutes runtime? because have more power, an a perfect runtime.
please tell me wich one engine buy???? 3 or 5 port............
