Default JP-1 vs. JP-3

has anyone compared a JP-1 and a JP-3??
wondering the exact differences...fuel mileage powerband ect..

I know that JP pipes dont dyno well.2013,053,and 086 are all you will ever need

Dyno results don't mean squat compared to real world on track performance, drivability and fuel consumption.... IMO dyno's are for bragging rights only!

didnt remember asking for recomendations on what pipe to run...just the differences in the 2 i asked about.

this is true my dyno is covered with dirt and has jumps on it!!!!

I've run all the Novarossi pipes....

but...

The JP1 is pure bottom end punch and then kinda lays down/goes flat on the top.

The JP3 pulls broader, without sacrificing too much in the bottom, doesn't flatten abruptly on the top and gets mileage for me.

I'm running a Picco Evo3 on a Jammin' X1CR buggy with a 12t bell (yes, 12t) and the JP3 getting 9+mins of runtime during race conditions (A-main pace; top 5).

I like it for the Picco's; haven't run it on a Novarossi/outsourced engine.

the jp1 is good bottom end pipe but sucks on the top end and mid range the jp3 is good mid and top end and ok bottom theay are bolth fuel hogs i get about 7 minutes top on my jp3 i get nine minutes onmy 086 but get insane power top to bottom

Been awhile since I ran my JP1 & dont even remmember who I loaned it to.I last ran it on the original picco evo & hated it & pretty much only run the 3 now(mostly).1 had good upper bottom & mieium mid then the motor would spin but not make power.3 has almost as much or close to the samebottom,killer mid & good ,to a little better top, with good over run but both are low milage pipes.Use the 3 it workes everywhere with almost every motor except the old ninja & I can only assume that means the new GRPs also but could be wrong on that.

i only got about 7 tops out of my jp3 thats pushing it

I ran the JP-1 on my GRP for about 2 gallons. I could easily go ten minutes until lately, it dropped to 8.25 at columbus. I did not change anything, and the motor still runs the same temp as it did when it was new. I went to the JP3, and everything was WAY OFF which shows that their is at least gain or loss to be had from changing the pipe. The only way I can explain the difference between the two pipes is that, the JP-1 is a pipe to use with a extremely hyper, unmanageable engine-indoors (with one exception). The JP-3 doesn't seem to be more hyper or "hit" harder as much as it seems to run cleaner and be more predictable.

The exception for the JP-1 is it seems to run well on junk motors. I have ran a o.s vg in a buggy at JCP(huge outdoor track) and a truggy at planet RC (high grip-good sized indoor) and tried both pipes. The JP-1 ran better and ran longer. Not to say that I was racing against stacked fields but I won both times, when I was merely running a joke of a motor to make laps. The pipe was a big difference especially in a 30 min. main such as the case with the truggy. It seems absolutely wasteful on a good motor.

if you can try them both with your engine (loan from friend).
every engine react different to pipes. some engines can be better with one, some with the second some engines can be no match to this pipes.
just for example i run radical 621t which is bottom end engine with nice top end but not very high, but when i coupled it with jp1 (bottom end pipe) it gained both more bottom end and high end power (btw crazy engine).

Hey Mo, I have both pipes and found the JP1 to be smoother and get better mileage between the two . This testing was done on Jammins and Picco Evos at the tracks I race on . If that any help, I was getting around 8.5 minutes.
