The Engine will be released in April as per the press release on the AE site. We have not heard of any delays with the engine. I saw adds in some of the R/C mags and on Neo-Buggy.

I've heard this engine is struggling to make it past or even hit the 9min mark.

Is this true?

I am in the market for a new engine right now, was looking at the reedy mill and I thought there were supposed to be 2 versions coming out, all I can find is ASC800, the one with the black head. Does anyone know if the other one is on the way?

Anything special i need to know about this engine? I have the ae2035 pipe already and have seen in the set-ups guys are using the p3 or p4 plug. I will be using this in the RC8T... dont see that making a difference but I dunno..lol
thanks,
Anthony

lorider- the P4 plug has been a great plug in the engine. In very cool temps a P3 may be better but for the remainder of this season outdoors a P4 will work fine. I also ran the engine this weekend with a 97T and it also worked well, great idle and crisp bottom end (not to mention they are $4 cheaper).

As far as run times, I do not cut back my throttle and lean the top like some drivers do to try and get runtime. I run the slide all the way open with a 7mm restrictor and get anywhere from 9:40 to 10:15 depending on track, grip conditions, etc..

I'm sure you've said it before Brandon, but what pipe are you running?

i would be more then happy with 9 minutes in a truggy during race conditions.. i have been known to have a slightly heavy finger lol.
I race in Canada and well, its barely above 0 Celsius right now. I was thinking i could use the P3 while the ambient stays low, then when the summer actually shows up switch up to the P4....

Also Brandon how would you compare these to the OS Speed motor or v-spec? They are both 3 ports but how is the power? I have two on order but still thinking about going Orion for the Nationals.

scottmisfits- I have only ran the motor with the 2035. It does everything well with that pipe so I haven't felt the need to try and find anything else to run.

Joey- not quite sure how to comment because I am honestly not sure if the motor I am running will be the full on production released version, but from my experience thus far, the power band is a little different but the overall characteristics are similar in that OS engines are known to tune well for novice and pros alike. I have put about 3 gallons through the engine, and it's always been an hour on HSN or LSN from a great tune. The carb doesn't jump around alot which is what OS had a good rep for. One thing I have noticed and confirmed with BT that it was normal was the motor will run a little warmer than a Vspec at optimal power, most people run Vspecs around 220 from what I have seen, and my 121 likes to be around 250-255.

As far as power, the motor is very deceiving, as in it's a smooth motor so at first you think the bottom end is soft, but then you easily clear jumps that you thought may be more difficult. The std vspec may have a little harder hitting bottom but the 121 is a pleasure to drive.

The retail shipment of the engines is supposed to be in transit to AE right now. Checking with them today, they believe the engines will make it to the States this week or next.

Almost there!
