High speed needle 0,045 inch IN from flush (= 1,1mm)
Low speed needle 0,045 inch OUT from flush (= 1,1mm)
Idle screw 0,03 inch IN from flush (= 0,76mm)

In my experience this is very close to optimal settings...it needs just minor adjustments from these settings. Most important is idle gap. It should be ~0,7mm. Then just go from there.

Settings also depend on plug. A GRP C5 or 6 plug likes it a bit leaner on top (cold natured plug) then for exapmple an O'donnell 97T (warmer nature).

You can use the following piston and sleeve sets as the GRP sets are an unobtanium nowadays:

GRP MR Ninja B01 (the GRP tuned is based on this model)
TQ racing 501-T (based on the GRP tuned)
Ascendancy G5 (based on the GRP tuned)
Tecnopower B01 (based on the GRP tuned)

Edit: i see in another post your talking about the GRP .28? Those p/s sets are very hard to get (probably impossible) and i dont know if anything else will fit.

Just took a look at the engine and the exhaust seal had a large chunk taken out of it  Needles were way off as well, not sure where that came from because I swear it was running perfect last time I had it out (though it has been about 10 months I guess).

As Ambros303 said, the .28's are Notoriously Hard to find parts for. The companies that picked up the old design did .21's and didn't bother with the .28's so unless you find something on a Dusty shelf somewhere your more then likely SOL.

As far as I know, there are No Nova parts that are interchangeable.

Best I can tell, a wrist clip was left off during the install leading to the failure (only one on the piston and there werent any pieces in the engine). Thing still ran pretty well

Any wrist clip recommendations?

Yes, INSTALL ONE next time.

madweazl 02-05-2011 09:53 PM

 I'm hoping it blew through the exhaust but I kind of doubt it. Had an extra piston/sleeve so it isnt to big of a deal.
