what's wrong with the stock front ?

somebody once told me a front bearing is always leaking till the engine is running. That same person also told me never to shut of a engine by plugging the exhaust cause that will cause the front bearing to leak. Both of which are very good info.

X2...but ive been caught many of time's stuffing the exhaust and its not like the front bearing will pop its seal..but might start to seep a little sooner then later....good info but not the holy grail as per how to shut down a motor.

and adam drake who ran grp's 4 months ago recommends cutting them off that way ...:lol:
Like Integra said its not gonna cause the seal to pop out but it will lead to an early failure. |

Well if you think about it. When you plug the exhaust you are stopping the exhaust flow. But its gotta go some where. So where does it go? Into the crankcase. I've just got in the habit of hitting the flywheel. Its easier anyway. I stop the engine then bottom the piston.
Like Integra said its not gonna cause the seal to pop out but it will lead to an early failure. as many people say do it both ways ...seems like a violent act and no good way to do it 6-1 haldozen of the other  |

i have always pretty much just bumped the flywheel to stop the motors i have owned what zixxer says is true every one to there own i guess but i have never liked the idea of choking the engine to stop , the pressure build up surley would have to do something eventually ?

Talking to the local pros, they said this is best for you engine, but not very conveinet, Stoping by fly wheel causes stress on your rod, but its the second best way to shut it off - plugging the pipe should only be used in emergencys |
