When is GO actually going to release their new engines, not the engines with rings but the ABC race engines, they seem to be taking a pretty long time for anything to be done.
My engine is based on the older GX-5R version but built to the specs of Mark from NAA (Australia) & modified, great engine but I wouldn't mind a later version to have modified. |

Are you referring to the GXII Plus and Cera? They are available now.
They are the traditional ABC type engines though aren't they, don't want no ringed engines. Is there any reviews or specs on the engines, if they are as good or better then the GX & GX-II engines then they should be a decent engine. |

Haven't seen them advertised for sale anywhere and they're not listed on the GO site, the piston ring concept is intriguing (likely more costly and techincally more difficult to execute correctly for nitro buggy engines). I really do think GO are just going to move with what market forces dictate in the future...pretty tough out there in the competition nitro engine segment with so many players on board with really good engines; not very many people at all running them (competition level go engines) nowadays compared to 2-3 years, their use/popularity really did die off quite suddenly and quickly (in Australia anyway from what I've seen). My bet is that they'll most likely concentrate on their bread 'n butter rtr/OEM supplied engines looking forward. |

Here are some pics I got from Robust Chen prior to his departure.
It was his intention to have all GO motors fitted with piston rings within a 6 month period. These motors were to be available in ABC configuration, until such time as the piston ring versions became available, but then they would only be available in the ringed version from that point on as I understood it - so not much use to anyone not 100% sold on the ringed technology. Now Mr Chen is gone, who knows what will be decided as regards the piston ring thing, as it was his big project. Maybe they spent too much with no return for Mr Wang's liking, and he gave him the don't come Monday - who knows ? The purple head is the Ce'ra (somewhat dearer then the normal GXII range). The orange head is the GXII Plus + (about the same price as previous GXII model). Pretty pictures anyway  |
A shame....i've never really been a fan of GO engines but those look pretty damn sweet, thanks for sharing.
So are they actually available as Bellgate said? (in either ABC or ringed) |
I've liked all my Go's.. Hope they get back in the game.. They had a great thing going for a while there with the 3, 5, and 7-ports, all coming with pipe and spare rods, extra plugs, etc.. and all for great prices.. Lot of competition out there, but if they can repeat what they did with the GXR line, that'd be cool...

If they do still go the ringed engine route then hopefully they see some sense & keep manufacturing them in traditional ABC as well because there won't be to many people wanting to run a ringed engine without knowing the reliability & I don't even think manufacturers will want to run ringed engines in their RTR cars either, if they can't rev as hard & make the power or aren't as reliable then I can't see to many people being willing to part with their $$ on them.
They must still be producing the GX engines though because thats what NAA is using for the MG66 & Godzilla engines, but built to Marks specs then he modifies them, same with the earlier 2 needle carb. I want to purchase another engine or 2 in the near future, wanted another modified GO Engine done by NAA but would prefer the GXII 5RHO or the later versions, if GO are going to drop the ABC constructed engine completely though then I may as well change now to the modified Nova P5 that Mark does & become familiar with them. |
I just think they're wasting their R&D budget by trying to reinvent the wheel, they should have furthered the development of their current line, including the 4-port "Underdog Project" engine which I think has potential to be a "poor man's Nova Keep Off 4"

GO engines will not go 100% on ringed path ... ABC will stay as main production.
Ohhhh first CERA engine racing in southamerica, got 4th place on truggy nationals in Argentina last week : https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...00437485_n.jpg https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...10050401_n.jpg Cera is a 3+2 ports engine, cya ! |
Cera, is that a short stroke? Looks similar to another engine.

Rex What does it look similar to? |
Sorry, but I have no links or much more information to share. I am just getting involved/interested in GO Engines myself and there is a holiday going on in China so it is tough to get information right now.
And when I say "available" I am speaking more from my position as a US-based hobby distributor. They are on my price list and I can order them if I decide to move forward. I already have two US dealers interested in carrying the product so I am more than likely going to bring them in. But, it's not a done deal so I can't make any promises. The pictures Pato posted show they are already in South America, but I can't tell you who is selling them there. Oh, the new engines are ABC, not ringed piston, just like Pato said. |

In Southamerica there are only couple CERA's ... i know that Argentinian distributor got a couple of them (some for testing and a couple for selling). Chilean distributor have only 2 Cera's and i have mine sent by factory to test but i will be in Mexico due to a Job assignment until december so no chance i think to test CERA for me until christmas. Brazilian distributor is waiting for couple CERA's to test out ... along with the new GXII PLUS ... This 2 new engines already factory tested and coming to distributors ... Hope to see them soon on USA stores :) regards, |
