Dynamite .19 fitment issue
As directed by a local hobby shops nitro "expert" to buy a dynamite .19 as a direct replacement for my losi ten-t's engine. I have found it not as easy of a swap as described. Yes I am new to wrenching on nitro engines.
The first snag I've hit is the output shaft on the crank is longer on the dynamite .19 engine then the former losi engine. So the clutch hub is not fitting correctly. What can be done about this? I feel basically like I'm at a point to scrap the project and cap my losses. Me and my kids enjoyed the losi ten-t while it ran, it was a great truck with good power, but once the ROSS starting system started to fail and parts are obsolete I knew I had to convert to a readily available power plant or throw the truck out with the next days trash. |

Why not go back to the "expert" at your lhs?

Good question! We live in a big city and unfortunately NO hobby stores here. I have to drive 1 hour each way to get to this hobby store and the nitro guy only works 1 day a week!

I think whats bad is that overall, even if people made this engine work, is marketed as a Traxxas replacement motor. I am sure that with that, you may have to adapt some sort of Traxxas Hybrid setup, to run this motor.
As such, As Roelof stated, perhaps you should show this "Know it all" and explain the mess his advice has created. Did you order from their LHS? I would tell them to make it right then, and if he refuses, I would kindly remind him that you are willing to leave appropriate feedback as a review on Google or such, as to their poor advice practices, to perhaps forewarn other potential victims of the "Advice" |
Basically he got u to buy a big block engine for a car that’s only meant to have small block. You would need to see if someone makes a conversion kit, if not you just wasted however much u spent on the engine unless u buy a platform that takes big block. What really sucks is that engine is junk and u probably paid $200 on it which could have gone to a good engine. |

Bummer Lee.. I dont think you will get this dynamite motor to work. And I hope you dint pay anymore than 120$...Id just call it a lesson learned .id just go with the correct losi motor......maybe resell dynamite motor to get back some of your money..

Traxxas make a clutch bell similar to that one on the ten t, but it still may be a tad shorter , how many teeth is the clutch bell for the original?

I did it
The dynamite. 19 shaft is 5mm shorter. I made is 5mm longer with a titanium bolt and piece of shaft. It doesnt let me upload images but I can show you images of what I did if you want.
