Is the track, loop, and all the transponders we ordered here?
#214
Everything is here. We will be doing a small test to get everything working this weekend and then do a test day possibly next week sometime.
We need time to get everything working as we haven't even set up the track yet. We would love to have everyone there, but thinks its best to figure this stuff out with no distractions.
Soon, very soon!

Mini-Z is a great time. I will be out tonight to check it out. Here is one of the tracks we built last winter, fast but not too hard we had a new driver or two.

Super fun stuff. Can somebody post the 'go to' tires as determined by the MOKEV PDX Mini-Z R&D team?
#221
One thing to note: avoid all silicone tires. they will ruin the grip on the RCP for any other type of tire. stick with the Kyosho or PN Rubber tires and you'll have a track that will build consistant grip. My RCP track is going on 8+ years now and works great for our club.

Last night ruled.
Thank you MO and Kevin for the invitation and added fun to the entire PDX scene. I believe this could be one of many baby steps needed to encourage newbie/kids/ and curious adults to RC Cars as a whole.
We all got the "sport" versions of the rtr called the MR-03s. That is what you should get too.
Last night I ran box stock with Kirkland aaa's and they last about 20 min at speed.
I will be heading to PN Racing's website to get their house brand rechargeable triple a's and some recommended tires.
I am trying to put in as little time and money as possible and just show up and race. Last night ticked all the same boxes of racing: staying smooth, avoiding the wall, looking for lines, blocking, and going for a flying lap...
Totally awesome and I would own my own track with loop in a heartbeat if I had the space at home.
I imagine if this track and some racers showed up to Tammies on a sunny day under some tents or the Lloyd center, we could have flyers and suggestions to get into lager scale/offroad/nitro/ or whatever. We need to see the faces on the noobs to remind ourselves what we are doing and what it's all about.
I want to thank ANYONE that has offered a track or place to race rc cars. I'd love to offer an rc track in PDX as well, but until I plow a vintage off road track into my backyard lawn, Im happy to be a thankful guest at whatever tracks are offered.
RC racing is awesome! Let's present it in a family friendly, fun, inviting, encouraging, positive, technical, challenging, lighthearted, community oriented way.

So right Tommy, it was so great seeing little Ryan Weathers wheeling around with a smile on his face and a sense of wonder.
This will be more and more fun as us offroad racers get used to the lines of onroad. The times came down almost 2 seconds a lap by the end of the night. Tommy was flirting with a sub 5 second lap, crazy.
First race is next monday night! Come by and check it out.

Front tire - PN Racing 15 Degree slick Part# RSF15
Rear tire - PN Racing 6 Degree slick Part# RSR06 or radial Part# RRR06 (Most cars have the wide rear tire, my subie uses the narrow rears so take note)
Bearings - PN Racing dry bearing set Part# 600129
Lube - PN Racing 2in1 com/bearing/bushing lube Part# 700801
Batteries - PN Racing Part# CP888 or Peak Part# PEK00580
The Grand total for all of the above is a whopping $35
That will get your car hooked up and corning very well. If you want to do a
motor upgrade use the PN Racing official stock motor Part# 110670 ($10)
Remember to take good care of your batteries, discharge down to Cut off voltage: 0.9V before charging. (Dont discharge all the way and dont store discharged)
Take good care of your motor. Break it in and lube the bushings before using, clean it after using.
I will continue to do R&D and will try my best to help anyone in anyway.
