Trying to sign up put DSM as my frequency and I can't continue because it requires an alt. but it won't allow me to select an alt.
#6
Just select DSM in drop down menu, tick off the class on the left you want to race enter transponder # and that should do it.

Trailers are allowed overnight as they represent our "security" and watch over things. Plus usually they sometimes get lake front property! Tents set up in the grass up top are "to get out of the sun and provide shelter from the heat".
No shirts this year.
I believe in years past the masters was open motor any 10th scale 2wd and I suspect we will maintain that.

Novice Class!
We would like to add a novice class again this year. We are curious if there is many novice drivers that would like the opportunity to race.
We are looking at a couple options for the Novice class:
Cap the age limit and the novice kids race free - with help from the parents / guardians come marshal time.
Maintain an electric 10th scale only novice and open it up to all ages for true novices, and provide free racing for the kids up to a certain age - again with help from the parents / guardians come marshal time.
Thoughts? Interest?

Novice Class
Novice class at the Hank:
After reading the input from fellow racers, seasoned and new alike, the novice class will be open to all new racers, younger and older alike.
Details:
Racers 12 and younger will receive free entry.
Racers 13 and older entry fee will be $20.00.
The club will have house transponders for use by the novice racers.
Racers 12 years and younger must have parent or guardian present to help with marshalling, transponder retrieval and return.
The class will be limited to 10th scale electric.
If the novice racer proves considerably more advanced than the rest, the racer will be bumped to the normal NCT race class.
Award for Novice drivers top 12 - depending on the class size.
We have an offer by Keith Whetsell, at www.rkwrc.com, who offers vehicles for rent to those individuals who do not have a vehicle, but want to start into racing. For a small fee, Keith will provide a vehicle to the new racer for the weekend and will handle the charging and maintenance of the battery for the entire weekend. The racer would still be responsible for the entry fee, if applicable, and the cost of any broken parts. Please let us know if there is any interest in this option so that Keith knows the number of vehicles to bring.

Both...
3D's- If track was blown off and abrasive they seemed to be very quick but any of the loose duff and they lost a lot of grip
Flip outs- Work ok, usually track is blown off enough that they are not needed as the higher pin can wear alot faster and DD works fine (but not a bad plan to have a pair or two on hand based on how weather treats the track)
Hybrids- Dunno, never really decided whether i liked them or didnt, so just put them away, but some of the locals may have some better experience
DD's- seems to be one of the more consistent tires through the weekend. If track stays dry bring a few pairs as they will get chewed up.
