3rd Annual PRCR ROCKSTAR/AKA Short Course Series!
The Largest Short Course Racing Series in the Pacific North-West is back for its 3rd year! The PRCR ROCKSTAR/AKA Short Course Series is set to begin on Friday, November 4th at Portland R/C Raceway. The series will once again be held on Friday nights with 2 races each month for the 3 months. The track will open on Friday's from 12:00pm to 6:45pm for practice and racing will start right at 7:00pm. The race entry will be $15.00 per class. This will be a 6 race series with 2 throw outs. 1 bonus point will be awarded for TQ. 1 bonus point also be awarded for every race attended.
We will run 2 5-Minute Qualifiers, 5-Minute Bump-Ups and Single 5-Minute A-Mains to help finish at a decent hour. We will resort after the first round of qualifying to allow for better racing. The top 6 drivers after qualifying is complete will go straight into the A-Main with a 2 truck bump in the lower mains.
These are the Series Race Days:
1 - November 4th
2 - November 18th
3 - December 2nd (tentative date)
4 - December 16th (tentative date)
5 - January 6th (tentative date)
6 - January 20th (tentative date)
With the ECT schedule not posted yet, we will have our December dates finalized and announced on November 19th at Series Race #2.
The points system will go:
1st. 50
2nd. 49
3rd. 48
4th. 47
5th. 46 and so on…
We will have 5 classes for the series:
1. Novice Short Course Truck
2. Box Stock Short Course Truck (Kyosho will award a free RTR SC to anyone who wins the Series in this class running a Kyosho SC!)
3. Stock Short Course Truck
4. Modified Short Course
5. 4x4 Modified Short Course Truck
These are the rules for each class:
1. Novice Short Course Truck
-Any current production 2 wheel drive short course vehicle may be used.
-Motor 17.5 brushless,19 turn 17T Reedy or 12T 550 may be used (nothing faster, only slower)
-Can use any 2 cell 7.4V lipo or 7.2V 6 cell NIMH battery pack (brushed motors may use 7 cell NIMH packs)
-Vehicle must appear to be a store bought short course kit with body off. No homemade creations using non short course parts.
-Aftermarket parts allowed RPM plastics (excluding chassis) and turnbuckles
-Stock or aftermarket parts must be made specifically for the vehicle you are running.
-Must use any body made specifically for a 1/10 scale short course vehicle.
-Must use any tire made specifically for a 1/10 scale short course vehicle.
2. Box Stock Short Course Truck
-Any current production 2 wheel drive short course vehicle may be used.
-Motor 19 turn, 17T Reedy, or 12T 550 may be used (any RTR SC motor can be used/ no brushless)
-Can use any 2 cell 7.4V lipo or 7.2V 6 cell NIMH battery pack (brushed motors may use 7 cell NIMH packs)
-Vehicle must appear to be a store bought short course kit with body off. No homemade creations using non short course parts.
-Aftermarket parts allowed RPM plastics (excluding chassis) and turnbuckles
-Stock or aftermarket parts must be made specifically for the vehicle you are running.
-Must use any body made specifically for a 1/10 scale short course vehicle.
-Must use original RTR kit tires (Kyosho, Associated, HPI, Traxxas)

-Any 4x4 production 4 wheel drive short course vehicle may be used.
-Any motor, any wind/turn may be used.
-Can use any 2 cell 7.4V lipo or 7.2V 6 cell NIMH battery pack (brushed motors may use 7 cell NIMH packs)
-Vehicle must appear to be a store bought short course kit with body off. No homemade creations using non short course parts.
-Any aftermarket parts may be used.
-Stock or aftermarket parts must be made specifically for the vehicle you are running.
-Must use any body made specifically for a 1/10 scale short course vehicle.
-Must use AKA Super Soft Compound Rebar Spec SC Tire
Portland R/C Raceway has the right to change or modify any rule as we see fit at any time to ensure better and more affordable competition.
The end of series awards will be given out to the Top 10 in each class, 4 races must be made!
10/11/11 - AKA has once again joined the ROCKSTAR Short Course Series as a title sponsor. We will use AKA's NEW Super Soft Compound Rebar Tires as the Spec Tire for the series as well as AKA's Red Foam for the Spec Insert. Special Event Pricing for the series will be $18.00 a pair for the AKA Super Soft Rebar Tires w/Red Foam and $8.00 a pair for AKA Cyclone SC Wheels. We are very excited to have AKA apart of our series again and cant thank them enough for the event special pricing to make the racing as fair and affordable as possible! We will have the AKA Tires and Wheels for sale at PRCR this Friday, October 14th so everyone can start running them and getting them mounted up for the series.

The AKA Rebars will be the handout tire for this years Rockstar/AKA SC Series for the front and rear.
