I hope this all works out...I had high hopes for PIR but that was being worked out by people that weren't in the "business'. This could be the break this area needs for a great outdoor facility. You never know what can happen here...a building built for some indoor (like West Coast Hobbies in La Mirada, CA) action, a field for the fly boys a public rc mecca right in the smack dab middle of everything!

On road, off road...who cares just to have either exposed will be the best thing here..a west coast version of Leisure Hours.....

I kid.

I don't. Give Dave a hard time! He needs to get his $&?@ together and race.

I'm holding out for a Nikko class

So let me wrap my mind around this,

The country is not in a recession, but a depression.

unemployment is at an all time high, look around at some of the people you know.

School budgets being slashed.

Our state in the gutter.

The roads we drive on are shit, no money to repair them.

There is in reality no end in site.

Housing Market spirialing out of control in a downward slide.

we've all lost a shitload of money from our 401's and the like.

Them thars some fine looking rose colored glasses being looked through.

In my day we had a stick to play with, and we liked it.

You just need a little "stimulus" :p

To impress the parks and city council people, show them the REEDY race at Tamiya DVD, and for off-road the ECT DVD.
Both are professionally run and announced races that make us all look good.

With the "State of Pharmacology Today", These thoughts will fast become a "Distant Memory!"

I've been gone all day and only now have had a chance to reply.

First, the enthusiasm is very encouraging. The RC racing community as a whole has a tremendous opportunity in this project. We should make the most of it.

Second, while the Seattle RC Racers currently run an indoor carpet racing program, the vision from the beginning has been to support and grow RC racing in general. Like many, if not most of you, I have a stable of RC vehicles, both onroad and offroad. I'm no purist, and neither is the club. Additionally, while the Seattle RC Racers are on point duty, the Washington Professional Radio Control Crawlers are already on board and participating in the design.

Third, should we succeed, this will be a permanent, public facility, on public land. The two tracks and the crawler area comprise a single, unified vision. In five years..ten...twenty years, it won't matter that the onroad track was built before the offroad track. Particularly when the whole thing is planned for completion in 24 months. That the onroad track likely comes first is a function of the political, design, and construction realities we must handle. I hope it will explain itself as we dive into the project and tackle the challenges together.

Finally, there are no trial runs here. We get one shot. Risks and doubts abound, and success is not assured. The "Told You So's" may have their day. But, for those who may not know firsthand, the Seattle RC Racers are for real. We're not here to waste our own, or anyone else's time. We invite you on this adventure. Please join us on March 20th.

Todd M.

Hey Todd just a thought but....I might be able to get some of the other Vancouver, BC racers that have run @ Hanger 30 to write letters of suport. City councils in most places like having people from other cities traveling to their area and spending money ....Food, Gas, Hotel rooms and beer...Congratulations on being organised enough to be able to get a meeting with the Board.
