Well...I'll give you the info as if the race is going to be held here since it sounds like folks want to start planning. I haven't got the final approvals, etc from ROAR yet but am told they are coming.
We are in Billings, MT. It is ALL interstate from Seattle/Portland to here. Once you're on I-90 you stay on it until you get here. My "par" time from here to the I-90/I-405 interchange on Seattle's Eastside is 11:15--that's stopping twice to fill the car and empty me. A little longer to Portland...maybe an hour?
The race will be March 7-9 which is Spring here (unlike Seattle/Portland we have 4 distinct seasons). That isn't to say it won't snow, but if it does it's usually pretty mild and the Interstates are kept pretty clear. We'll have the track ready for practice some time around noon Friday and will stay pretty much as long as folks want to practice (well...at 2am we might insist practice is over...). Huge gymnasium/auditorium at the Shrine. Full table for pits per person and room to fit about 200 racers, large stage high above the track for a driver's stand with room for 20 easily. On-site professional concession (burgers, dogs, nachos, etc) and plenty of good restraunts nearby.
More info as we get it...we're really waiting on the final approval docs, etc to get flyers, etc but now you've got the info you need to get the weekend off, etc. If I was coming from Seattle/Portland I'd plan on driving over Thur and back Mon unless I had more time to kill. A bit early to hit Yellowstone or the Beartooth, but still plenty to see and do.
