He has a stocked hobby store, and a nice offroad facility, but oh well, I guess racing is racing.. Pinshop runs on a full track and seems like a cool place.

Sorry but I have to chime in here.....

Wolcott's SCT track is still a work in progress. Currently it is half dirt, half concrete. The jumps on the dirt sections are made of dirt. Jumps on the concrete are wood. The wood jumps are still being finalized (height, pitch and placement). Once their final configuration is determined they will be carpeted to provide plenty of tracion on take off and landing. The track currently avarages 20-25 sec laps. Lester is planning on expanding the track to twice the currrent size in the near future. As everyone knows, Lester knows how to build a killer track. The current SCT course is alot of fun, exspecialy when the concrete is wet.. Box Stock Slash is the biggest class at the moment and the trucks run perfect on the track. Mod Slash / SC10 is growing every week also. I know Raul was expecting more and was a bit dissapointed, but you owe it to yourself to check it out for yourself. SCT racing is held on Tuesday and Friday nights. Racing starts at 6:30. The program moves along quick and racing usualy is finished my 10-10:30. Lester is also going to run several "BIG" SCT events on Saturdays during the summer. He has contacted Traxxas about running some sponsored / sanctioned events. I also showed him the RC Pro Series National Championship Series, I'm going to see if he will run that Slash series also. Maybe RCHR can get in on the action and join up with Wolcott to get some type of SCT series going.

Raul, we've been friends for a long time so please don't take my above comments the wrong way. I know you were not impressed with Wolcott's SCT track, but you don't need to publicly post that someone should not go there just because you don't like it. I personaly don't like Pinshop. Not because of the track, but due to other reasions. I have never told someone to not go there just because I don't like it. We need this hobby to grow so we should be encouraging people to visit as many tracks as possible so they can make their own decisions about them. I'm thinking about taking a Friday night off from work in the next week or two to go racign at Wolcott. Why don't you join me and see if doing some actual racing on the track changes your feelings about the place...

Here's a vid of some racing action a few weeks ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlntKWmbFXo

I never said dont go, I said I dont consider it SCT racing. Re-read my post. I also stated that he put ALOT of effort into his facilty, and his 1/8 offroad track. . I just gave my impression. High hopes, and unfortunate results. My kids liked it though..it was easier for them to drive on.
SCT class is a racing class, unlike what everyone is portraying it to be. Ultimatley we should all be thankfull for three choices of track to run on in one city. Some places dont have two tracks in one state.
Rob, no worries, we will be making it out to LIR on a fri night after school to lay some smack down. ()

I think Matt, should try out Lester's for himself, and give his own opinion. I like Lester, he seemed cool, and down to earth. I would race there in the future no problem..He has a leg of the NESS 1/8 races coming.

Ron, I may have to take you up on that. Oh and no hard feelings..

On another note I went a took a peek at Controlfreakz outdoor offroad track. Looks killer.

LOL!

I said the same about the new RCHR and was ridiculed.

The RTR truck is fast as greased snot and i wish I had the time to shoot up to madness to run it. Pinshop has a wall ride which is neat but I think it is overall better suited for nitro as the focus.

When the ProComp makes its comeback it is going to be pretty competitve...all the bugs were worked out but until work frees up Wolcott looks like the trucks best bet. SC is supposed to have simple jumps, sweeping turns and a basic fast overall layout just like the real thing.

Tomorrow TORK is on SPEED channel with Traxxas...I'll be sure to tune it I love watching it!

Point taken. Now I understand how you felt. But I will race on Lester's track soon enough.

Let me know when you guys deside to go. I am about 5 minutes from there and will swing by. I raced the track for the first time friday night. I qualified 2nd to Lester and fast laps were 21's.

The track really doesn't look like much since its half dirt and half concreate but its really fun. I think I actually like how its a different feeling to both parts of the track.

As for the not SCT racing. I think I can get where Raul is coming from. It was a fun night but I have to admit it was much more of a bash fest. Some people if they couldn't beat you would just punt you if they got the chance. Good thing the sc trucks are pretty durable.

Oh and Kyle thanks again for getting me set for the main. Next time I might have to pack an iron.

I'll probably check out Madness today then.....if I don't go fishin instead and swing by Lester's on Tuesday. Which track is drawing more SC trucks? I'd rather run where there is multiple mains to keep from getting punted by a noob.
I also agree with Tom and Raul.......SCT is for sure a real race class. My 2 biggest quams are noobs (who can't drive, but they gotta learn somehow and somewhere so they get a pass) and dudes who think SCTs are just for bashing and fun therefore wreaking havoc on a race course.
I'll admit, I'm still a little heated from that last trophy race where the carpet swallowed me up and cost me a podium.

I'll agree about the bashing. Heck, me and Joe hammered on eachother for an entire heat last time we were there. It was all in good fun though. Banging is actualy pat of SCT racing. Just watch a real race on SPEED and you'll see what I mean. Clean racing is for all the other R/C classes. Bumping and banging is what SC is all about. A warning to all.... I have no problem putting a fender to you in order to make a pass. Rubbing's racing....

I smell what your cookin. I don't mind a fender here and there or even getting rolled if I cut a corner short on a faster driver's line, but a rental slash going the wrong way down the straight or another fast section is no fun.......for me anyway.

If anybody needs something to do today, there's a cool WWII exhibit in Bristol today. All kinds of weapons, tools, vehicles and super cool vets to talk to.
