Nt1, serpent 7xx, Capricorn c03, Mtx6, etc, are all the same design.... The Ntc3 is basically the only other design choice that AE never upgraded until Bert did: check it out ! Hopefully AE will re-release the Ntc3 with the necessary upgrades soon...

Where would you find the rear exhausts for them and good parts?

Hey guys

Thought i would get some thoughts and opinions. I have a near new Nitro Tc3 and also have a Nt1r but don't like the Nt1r as i wanted the Nt1... I was not educated when i bought it and listened to the local hobby shop and it was a while ago. I have a mean motor in it and wondering if it would be worth putting in my Tc3 or get the Nt1 2017 or 2016 OR the Serpent Natrix 748 WC??

Cheers

PM sent

Tower hobbies still have some parts otherwise eBay.

They are all pretty much he same design. The WRC has some new changes like air diffusers. Take a look at them. Creation Model is coming out with a car some time in the future as well.

exhaust are available from Associate site. EBay, Amazon. Good parts are hard to come by, but factory upgrades are still out there and can be found.

The creation car might be interesting. I have the local distributor nearby.

2 shoe stuff is all that's left these days.

Probably because I purchased most of the three shoe flywheels out there ...lol...I am still on my first set of shoes though: I guess the ofna lube slowed the wear down a bit....

I think the 2 shoe is supposed to have harder initial bite. The 3 should be smoother.

Speaking of ntc3, I'm setting up a new engine and clutch combo for one of my ntc3's.

Done. Was a pain, crank snout height was off and I had to do some massaging to get it right.

Very nice work mate. Yeah i have an o.s .12 xz speed tuned spec 2 with a silicone filled crankshaft ready but wouldn't mind trying to find a second hand roller or put it in the Tc3. I am a huge fan of the Ntc3.

The Novarossi engines are great! I have a Nova Virtus .21 with ceramic bearings and 9 port.... Plenty of power and thats in my Mrx5.

Quick question, why didnt you use the three shoe clutch?

Real

Well if its between tc3 & nt1 id go nt1 str8 out the box winner no hopups or tricks

I prefer a centax for adjustability. I also have several springs to change the engagement feel. The low cg of the engine mounts and small flywheel help revs.

I do have a new 3 shoe clutch kit from kfactory. It's much nicer than stock.

I'm trying to finish off a few rollers here. I've got a red one, a purple one and a green one im trying to finish off. Lots of aluminum and trick parts. I will sell the one I like the least.

My main ones are mostly blue. One is a track car, the other is a top speed car and the third is a basher for fun.

If you and I had the same driving skill, I bet I could blueprint a ntc3 to run very close and be somewhat competitive with factory associated parts.

A few hop ups, aside from putting more power to the ground without belts, I'd likely be pulling on a nt1 at a sticky track.

bertrandsv87 09-09-2017 11:39 PM

I have never used the two shoe clutch, but I can attest that three shoe with ofna lube had enough bite in it to compete without missing a beat, eventhough my ntc3 was overgeared and overweight all the time... The weight reduction and regearing will definitely help, but keep in mind that the other cars have been getting modded every year since 2001 or so versus the relative stagnation of the ntc3 design. Still the ntc3 is able to hold its own with just a very few mods...The potential is still there, and I think the belt designs have too much rotational mass issues to win against an uber light ntc3 like mine, unless I fail on the driverstand....
