Can't go wrong with a Mugen, parts are always available, and they are solid cars.

That would be a hard call, unless you willing to spend a little, such as new belts, pulleys and maybe a full set of bearings, pending the chassis not being tweaked it could turn out to be a good car. I am not sure, but it does not look like a clutch is included. Is there a track nearby, where perhaps others are running an MRX-5? This could enable you to get some help with both parts and setup.

I would expect an increase in used mrx5's to be offered when the updated car is released. but all the same cautions apply.
to me the cost difference of a new kit compared to a moderately-heavily used one isn't so much when you total up the complete cost with motor and electronics, new belts, clutch shoe, pinion/spur gears, maybe pulleys, some flat spotted bearings, and a sloppy arm here and there.
however if you find someone that jumped into 1/8, and crashed out the first day and decided to try something else, and wants to dump the kit, then you may have a good buy.

I think you are all right
Firstly i bought a used Xray Nt1 with a RB speed 12 engine, its in good condition apart from Drive shafts ?
I have replaced the front, but i am new to nitro ! so will see how it goes !
If it goes well then will look in the summer for a new 1/8
Cheers all
