I have ran the car for a couple years now and have not noticed the front belt wearing faster than the others. As long as you keep up on your maintenance and keep the pulleys clean, the belts will last a long time.

The side belt usually shows wear before the others in my experience.

with the new chassis and the average axle recess the wear problem seems solved .... always good if we regulate the draft.

Looking at JJ's Roar Nat's setup; he is using serpent red springs. According to Serpent site, those are 4,1 23,5. What is the closest equivalent to them in Mugen springs? Thanks

I am not sure what would be close to that. From what I have heard is those springs are designed differently.

I noticed that too. I guess for simplicity, I assumed the new ones.

well using serpent rear red spring is .5 lighter at 1/4 of compression than the rear yellow from mugen being 23.9 and 24.4 respectively
as for the front springs that is a different story
front serpent red tested @ 22.7 where the mugen yellow front tested out at 29.4
so pick your poison . I haven't seen that setup sheet so I am not familiar with it

It's on the mugenracing site. He is also running 800f and 1000r shock oil with 1.1x3 pistons.

aside from the rear are there any major differences between the 6 and 5? the pulleys and gears are the same right?
i have my 5 up for sale but i am thinking about turning it into parts/sections.
also are the diffs prone to leaking? i guess my question is dont fill them like you would on an 1/8, right?? any tips will be appreciated.

There isn't much difference between MTX5 and MTX6, but there is a lot that has changed on the MTX6R. Yes, the pulleys and gears are the same. The gear diffs do tend to leak. There are a few different things you can do to prevent that. You can sand the open part of the diff case with 600 grit to ensure it is flat and put 2 diff gaskets in instead of one, what some of the guys do is put some silicone around the diff case. As far as filling it up with fluid, I normally fill it up to the cross bars and let it settle to see if the fluid level drops. If it does, then fill some more.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Does anyone know off hand or can someone measure for me the diameter of the upright pivot balls/kingpins of the mtx6 for me? I would really appreciate it since I found a good deal on a set but I plan to use them on a velox v8 and need to know the diameter of them to be sure they will work.
