Is there a tire size that works best on the MTX-3. I'm only running the standard belts. Should the tires be the same size or smaller on the front.
Thanks All. |

Without belt conversion, run 2mm smaller fronts, with 16/19 conversion, run 4mm split.

I get about 2mm wear in a 10 min race. I have been doing 3 races on 1 set. But would I be able to do faster laps if I true my tires down smaller. Sorry about all the questions. I have only had two race meets. So I'm new to on-road. |
Tire Size
One more thing to remember.....as tires get smaller and you set the arms lower to get adequate ride height, the suspension geometery changes (roll-center, etc.).
Many people may consider this a minor factor, but you should try larger tires and small tires and see if you can tell any difference. Typically, the roll-center lowers as the suspension arms drop.....so very small tires create more chassis roll.....the debate is on as to the final effect....it depends somewhat on the level of grip available....but generally this will give the front of the car a crisp feel.....regardless....this is the only way we have to tune the front roll-center....maybe this will change on the MTX-4....can't wait. |

Same belt for 1-way or diff. Not sure on number of teeth on belt.Too lazy to go out in garage and count. Front belt is the one that is slightly longer than rear belt" :)
|
Front belt is 201, side belt is 375 and rear belt is 192. The rear belt and side belt are same size as VoneRR belts.
