I decided to keep the MT12 of my MTX2 as a spare engine for the MTX3 (Since no one wants to buy the MTX2). Now the bearings in that engine need to be replaced. I know the procedure on how to change them but I never had to do it before. My question is, should I go with the best quality bearings or since this will be a spare engine, could I just put less expensive bearings in there like Boca.

Thanks

P.S.: Please answer in english :D

My own experience with those two engines this weekend (National event, >40ºC air temp, !!!63ºC!!! ground temp and lots of punishment) tells me that the NS12 is a good performer, but please don't discard your RS12 S3 models, can be quite quite satisfactory with the proper engine tunning.

I've choosen an RS12 engine for running this weekend, NS12 can be faster, but for me is much proven the RS12 and I played the card of the reliability rather than sheer performance. But if needs to buy an engine and start from zero with them, choose straight an NS12.

Three words: Novarossi spare parts.

Your spare engine is the one will save you from packing to your house, so will be a quite reliable engine, pay a little more and use Nova spare parts, there's no need of cheapo bearings on your engine.

Well, I've replaced the bone twice already. Mugen MTX-3's CVD is not really impressive when compare to their predecessors, i.e. MTX-2; but surely worth the money, anyhow.

I've been using the stock dogbones. What are the benefits of the CVDs? Do they make that much difference??

They don't fall out when you tap the wall like the stock dogbones. :)

I'm only running CVD's in the front of my car, as thats the only place that has the dogbone problem.

B 07-12-2003 10:54 PM

the front stock dogbones tend to fall out:flaming:

eddiethefish : thanks :)

I use CVDs on both Front and Rear. It helps me, and helps others because if the dog bones falling out, it could be hazardous to other cars in the track. People wandering in the track searching for dog bones could become a distraction, as well.

If you insist to use dog bone, color it, so you may spot it easily in the track.
