My kit's still in the mail from Ultimate Hobbies. Does the kit come with the manifold? I know it has NO engine or NO pipe.

Have you guys fowled up your belts much? I'm coming from a NTC3 background.

Mine came with a manifold ¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?, but if yours came with the manifold, send to trash inmediately. The only that does is choking the exhaust and makes your car go hotter.

If your track has no rules and don't plan to race on sanctioned races, go balls out for a 5 port turbo, but if in your mind has a little desire for racing, go for a 3 port engine.

If you choose an RB, go for a Rody 215 model and you'll know what is a real good engine. A good pipe for your car and engine would be a Novarossi In-line or a X12 pipe (1700-201) with the short manifold, item no. 1700-193 (caution, you need to cut the manifold, is too long from stock).

I've broken a pair of front belts, but probably were some defective (I'm the unique I know that broke two front belts without banging the boards).

Fura Fura: Thanks I'll give that a try. Would you happen to know the equivalent ratings of the sorex tires with the HPI slick ratings? Just wondering because that's what I have lying around.

Corse-R: I wish I could afford the Rody version but I don't have that kind of $$$ :( Any other suggestions on engines and pipes? I'm looking for both since I bought the engineless kit.

Broke belts on its own not doing anything??? Starting to get a little worried.

Thanks,
Puma

Novarossi S3 or S5 are alternative good choices and they are cheaper compared to Rody. However, if you can afford and you need more HP, Rody is the one you need.

corse-r-i have the same problem with snapping belts without banging into anything.the first thing i suspected was the muffler wire that holds the muffler.the wire was sticking too much in torwards the belt and i think it rubbed on it enough to snap it.if anything it could be a rock stuck inthe 16t pulley.

4wd means all 4 wheels are on loading when on power. if the front belt stripped easily, that means you have more front wheel overdrive/loading. check if you have bigger tire size when your front belt stripped. If y es, avoid running your car with too big tire size in the front.

Uhm... then go straight for a Nova S3 or in case is out of your reach, an RB X12 or Sirio. Sorry, haven't tested more pipes, the two I named are the two I have and got good results with them.

I don't know what to think about belts.... was putting serious HP to the ground and the traction was very high and I was running during much time without paying attention to the tyres. Probably was a combination of fatal factors.

What kind of track do you run on? Is it fast and open or tight and what's te traction like.

Are those red 2.0 springs a Mugen part?

Fura Fura 03-20-2003 04:07 AM

puma , i think the sorex 36 is like HPI 33r............
Freakah.... its a open track with high grip and short straights. except one long straight....
