That could be a possibility that the future kits might be cheaper, or might not. I don't know since I don't work for Mugen USA nor HRP. I didn't come on to stir things up, but rather to educate the U.S. racers instead. Too many people are quoting cheaper price from outside the U.S. and people think that's the U.S. pricing. And don't matter why our price is potentially higher, we should be buying U.S. kits anyway. If Mugen USA does some kind of future support, recall, upgrades, or what not.... if you are holding an Asia kit, you are SOL.

At the end, dig back to your economics class. Inflation within the last 2 years since MTX3 came out. Gas prices for the boat and trucks.

Maybe each kit in U.S. is autographed by the whole Team Mugen USA!!! :sneaky:

Dom....your opinion here is greatly appreciated (at least l knew what Mugen USA is thinking..) I am just surprised to see the MTX4 kit will be a $100 more compare to the other chassis like RRR or 710. But again, you did made a good point, RRR are 1 year old, 710 are almost 2 years old, no one said that the future RRRR or new Serpent will be $350 anymore...may be because of the MTX4, they might be listed $450 as well.

200mm kits inflated just like the US gas price..........but compare to other country's gas price, US is still a lot cheaper per gallon.........but totally different on RC price.

Do you think the US kit will come with some option that is different then the Japan/Asia kits...?

Here is an American Hobby Shops which have the MTX4 listed:

www.rc-toro.com

for 395. Wait until the panic buys are over and the price will decrease even more.

when we got the serpent 710 last year.,the hype about the price was not like this at all....we paid about 350.00 for the 710......kitty

Different place have a different price.may be $370 is not a good price for every one.sorry!!

rcfoolz 10-18-2005 10:45 AM

I was quoted from the 2 hobby shops I buy from the same price of $480 here in FL. They are 200+miles apart too. I was able to obtain my first of 3 kits for a couple dollars less, but even so, its still over $450. If the kit comes down in price, thats fine by me, but I'm not banking on it happening any time soon.

litespeed-dom 10-18-2005 10:52 AM

I'll only be trusting the price from the shops that are known to U.S. racers and ACTUALLY have them in shop. A place like rc-toro that doesn't have them in stock, looks like a Hong Kong site, smells like a Hong Kong site, just unsure about that. They could be importing kits with Asia serial numbers. I've called their registered business number, it's disconnected.

RC-toro.com is a legit USA shop. You can see our address under the "About Us" section of the web site. Ppl who bought from us before know that the package is shipped out from San Jose ,CA. Not some Asia countries. ;)

We changed the telephone number because we received too many calls than we could handle :( . We do not have enough resources at this moment to handles all these calls. And, we had bad exp in doing business thru telephone. That is why we decided not to put the tetephone number on the web site anymore, and changed it to some other numbers.

Yes, but it is out-of-stock. Maybe this the 2nd batch price, not the marked-up/jacked-up price. A TX LHS had them for $525 (and sold out).

Thanks Toro-man. And now we know you are legit. So is the $395 pricing stays when you get them in stock? And more importantly, these are U.S. kits, right? If you answers are yes, then more power to you, make sure you stock up a lot!!!!
