if you leave a gap between the 2 speed shoes it doesn't have to expand a lot to shift and you'll get a more consistent shifting.......

it worked for me at least.....

I think the current mtx4 price is much higher than its first release.
( I paid $ 380 ).

mr.TUNED help on inconsistent shifting 1st to 2nd gear

You can also try letting the shoes move slightly on the holder, I know a few top drivers that always set there 2 speeds up with this little bit of play and swear by it.

Either than that, good battery.
I'm using the Skyline receiver battery as well and I was able to get away with connecting it directly to the receiver. You can see from the picture that the battery plug goes from the right/back end of the battery to the receiver. It worked out to the exact length and worked perfectly. What kind of radio gear are you using, it may be different plug locations of your receiver that is causing the wiring hassle.

does any one find any advantages out of any of the option parts that are available for the MTX-4 or are most of them just for bling. Ive got front universals, engine mount, rubber belts alround and steel pinoins

All of the option parts from Skyline Racing have one unifying theme to them: Reducing flex and or improving efficiency.

No problem. If it doesn't have a benefit to the racer than it won't be made.

without knowing your setup information, i can tell you it's the tires you are running, try 42 40 , you will feel much better.
