scott.....
this 9.5mm distance is relative............do you put any shim behind the cone?? i.e: if you don't put any shim there and I use a 0.5mm shim then my setting should be 9.0mm, right?

there is an easier way to get a measurement that can be transfered to another racer. take the calipers with the little rod that goes out the bottom. run it down to the end of the clutch nut. ""IMPORTANT"" ZERO THE CALIPER. Then run it down to the spring tension nut. look at the dial or digital readout and this is your clutch adjustment. I set mine tun in .80mm that is with the light weights, silver JP spring, grey shoe. I have used this setting with an MR12, X-12 and FX12m. Works great.

I set my clutch this way.............
but I'd like to try the other mentioned by Scott Fisher, also to compare that setting to the way we do.......

Yes, try 9.0 if you are spacing your flywheel out.
Joe, I have tried other ways and I have found this way the easiest for me to get consistant settings for myself.
FYI to anybody looking at my clutch setup. I am running the stock parts that come with my MTX 4. (lightened flyweights that I drill out some, grey clutch shoe, super hard spring)

The end flow and spring adjustment is a fine measurement with largish margin of error. Spring tension also varied even on the same type of springs. The nut position only gives you a rough indication.
Fine adjustment has to be made on the bench with engine running. Hold the car down and rev the engine. You can feel when the clutch engage and tune it to your own liking.
