I have almost 3 gallons of fuel on my car. I just had to replace the side belt which is rubber. I replaced the front and rear urethane belts just because I have a 60 minute main to run tomorrow. They both look brand new. I don't know if you do this, but I never use denatured alcohol, or anything else for that matter when cleaning my car. I just use compressed air. I put on a set of the rubber belts as they definitely roll better than the urethane belts.

As I said, they are all clean and prepared dedicated raceways. Perhaps a dirtier track is causing your belt cracking? It doesn't sound like you are having any major issues, as belts do wear out no matter what you do.

mtx3 and 4 have big difference in clutch bell ( 2 bearings vs 3 bearings in mtx4 ), flywheel ( different depth ) and pinion gears ( more teeth vs less teeth in mtx4 ). So they are not switchable.

If you run fine with mtx3 clutch... then stick with it.

I run at Revelation and broke my first side belt after a gallon or so. It just flipped over on itself and started to crack. I didn't hit anything. I think the side belt is too loose.

If you are worried about the side belt being too loose, use the 25t pulley and just adjust your tire split.
